Default C4S stock ride height and springs?

I'm looking at eventually upgrading my struts - looking at the Bilstein B8 vs B6XT right now.

My understanding is that the C4S comes stock with Turbo suspension - thus it should be 30mm lower than a standard Carrera?

My car looks like it's lower and has less wheel gap than what I've seen in C2 pics, so I assume this is true. I've been looking through the archives and keep seeing conflicting information - ie "all US 993s have the same ride height".

I believe the C4S then came stock with M033 springs? Some insight appreciated - there is a lot less dedicated C4S info out there.

Pic for reference...

It's true that all US 993/S/4S/Turbo came with the same ride height. I don't recall anyone ever claiming otherwise. Yes different springs and spring rates, but all had the same ride height.

If your car is lower then a previous owner installed different springs.

I agree. I certainly hope the C2 was no higher than my factory C4S. It looked like an SUV when I bought it. My gut feel is the ride height for all Porsches was established by the DOT rather than by the particular model. My recollection is the 993 came with Monroe shocks. Check to see what's on your car. My C4S had Monroe's which I swapped out for Bilstein with M030 setup.

Hopefully these before and after photos upload.

Ok that settles that then.

I’ll see if I can make out the markings on the springs and see if ROW springs were installed. Without seeing the car side by side with a stock 993 it’s hard to tell from pics.

In your photo your AR car looks like ROW to me. Compare to the photo of my car at ROW. You may already have the correct springs.

My C4S was also at SUV height when I first got it. It had orange front shocks and green rears, not sure if they were just for the WBs?

Thanks guys for the pics. I couldn't tell any markings on the springs. But looking at these pics and comparing, I'm thinking this is ROW ride height.

From the chart I provided above one can simply measure the height at the designated measurement points with a ruler front & back and conclusively know where their ride height falls.

That's excellent - thank you. I must have missed that post.

Enlighten me.

Car is definitely lowered. I don't think it's ROW m030/m033 based on my measurements, so I need new springs. For now, considering the m030/B8 route, as much for cost as anything else right now. Thanks for the help...

Figured you’d ask about the designated measurement points. Heck I’ve measured several times yet still forget where they are.

That chart is interesting. If I'm reading it correctly the column that shows deviation from stock indicates that there is absolutely no difference in ride height between US M030 and US stock suspensions. To get the 30mm reduction, you need the ROW M030 suspension. I need to stop just discussing M030 and instead refer to mine as ROW M030.
