I read the archives about the evo2 seats. I am wondering how much they lower the driving position with sliders and w/out? My problem is that I am just shy of 6'2" and on the larger side
With the factory sport seats and my helmet on, my head crashes into the roof, even with some recline. If I recline more, I lose the good steering wheel reach. Then if I move the seat forward, my feet are jammed and my knees are splayed. Plus I feel like Magic Johnson in a Yugo.
Does anyone have pics of Evo 2's installed in a 993? Do they fit? I have heard a few mentions of them being too wide at the shoulder area?
I have also heard talk of them crashing into the center tunnel if you move them back some?
Whats the latest opinions?
Thanks,
Chris

Chris, these seats have been covered a lot lately. Check out these threads and see if you have any more questions:

Lots of comments from big people in those threads. Bottom line: Evo2s work fine for the track; mount them directly to the floor for 2 inches of extra headroom; Fishman has Momo Acropolis seats in his race car, and somehow, with them mounted on sliders and me sitting on the cushions I have more headroom with my helmet on that with my EVO2s bolted directly to the floor.

Chris,
I am 6'-3" with fairly short legs and an extremely long body. I have sliders in but need to take the seat cushions out to make it in the car with my helmet on and the sun roof closed. Still I need to sloutch (sp?) to fit. I doubt you have as long of a body as mine but ya never know.

Chris:
If you find some decent seats, please drop me a line via e-mail. At 6'4" and "on the larger side" as well <img src="graemlins/r.gif" border="0" alt="[king]" /> , I am looking for seats. I plan on sitting in a bunch this weekend, in anticipation of my first DE.
Thanks.

Phil,
Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) was really excellent this past weekend. My first time there. SOme intimidating walls in some spots but once you get the line and use to the visuals it is really fun. Definitely one of my favorite tracks.
Hope you don't have any rain in early Decemeber

I'm 6'4, and have the evo 2 bolted to the floor. For track events I have to pull the cushions out of the bottom to clear my helmet.
When trying seats make sure you take into account the high sides on the base of the seat. They don't allow your legs to splay out like the regular seats do.
