993 3.8 R outlaw build. Now a 4.0L!!!
I've been working on my 993 C2S for a almost half a year now and am going to start documenting my build from its current state onward. You can find photos of my car on instagram as well. @997RS
I've owned a couple 993's in the past, but have always liked the widebody and look of the C2S with the split grills. IMHO I think its the best looking aircooled 911. Just my opinion. But the C2S could be improved in certain departments. So now I'm putting together what I would call a 993 R. Rstrada has performed most of the work and Rothsport will be building the engine. #MyPerfectPorsche #project993r
First phase- Body shop-
The car that I bought needed some TLC so it went to the body shop first.
There was some burn through in the paint on the rear quarters from being overly buffed out and so this car received a partial windows out respray on the rear quarters. The front and rear bumperettes were removed and filled and both bumpers were painted as well. New Tail light Lenses were added. Euro Amber Turn Signals added and Turbo S front brake ducts complete the look.
Phase 2- Suspension and brakes and Wheels
I went with a full ERP suspension package that includes spherical bearings, Kinematic Links, Subframe mounts, Toe steer links, bump steer kit, steering tie rods, and Rear A-arms.
Custom painted Speed Yellow Turbo brakes front and rear and stainless steel brake lines will be added for more stopping power. 993 RS adjustable stabilizer bars both front and rear and RS engine and transmission mounts were added to tighten everything up and JRZ-R1 coil-overs got the stance down to RS spec height. Tramant Speedlines with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires were installed and aligned at Rstrada.
Phase 3- Interior
Hardback turbo sport seats were bought and installed in place of the standard seats. RS door cards were added with 993 Door hardware, Speed Yellow straps and Speed Yellow Seat belts. Rennline pedals and an RS shifter top things out. Eventually the rear seats will be taken out once the new Rear seat delete rear shelf arrives. The RS shifter is sitting on top of an RS short shifter from a 993 RS and uses an FD motorsports forward and golden rod. All the bushings in the shifter were replaced with new parts as well. A continental radio and Focal speakers were installed for some tunes and a more updated stock look. new floor mats should top everything out on the interior once completed.
Phase 4- Engine
The engine is now out of the car and will be sent to Jeff Gamroth at Rothsport for a 3.8L RSR engine upgrade with ITB's and a GT3 intake. Ever since seeing Daffy's and Singer Cars, I've always wanted to put a GT3 intake into one of my aircooled cars. This car will also run motec and be cat delete.

Love this , in the middle of a similar endeavor and it's nice to see others with GT3s following the same slippery slope.
