Default RS Splitters 'R Us... w/express checkout

Finally had some time to put my Xmas present (RS Splitters) on the car... but only one day to do it in. Started at 7am Saturday morning... finished at 9am this morning. In between was the fit-up, wet sand, patch, wet sand, prime, wet sand, patch a bit more, wet sand, prime, go to son's basketball game, wet sand, apply 4 color coats, apply 2 clear coats, sleep, install this morning.

And the results... check the pics (one before shot and two after... I must say it looks better in person. Much less subtle than the pics show.

It looks fantastic, Jeff. Put any more paint on them and you'll start losing the shape.

Will they fit on a C2S? Where did you purchase them/

Looks terrific!. The RS splitters really change the character of the car without going overboard (the turbo bumper looks great on the narrow body too). Did you have any trouble matching the color, and is there a DIY write up to follow anywhere?

I followed the write-up on p-car.com... not hard at all to get the old ones off and the new on.

I purchased the splitters from MAShaw... high quality though I'm sure they don't fit like the factory pieces. If I had more time I would have spent some of it getting the fitment even better.

Now for the don't laugh part... I purchased the paint in a spray can from paintscratch.com. I figured if it didn't work out I would get it professionally paint matched, and then spray it myself with my paint gun. But it worked great... standing around the car you'd think it was professionally done.

Wow! You did that yourself? It really changed the look.

It looks absolutely great from where I sit.

Fantastic job. I've an Arena Red C4S. Do you have the PN to order the paint and clearcoat?

I am looking at the RS side skirts... don't know when but at some point I'll go for it. I'm also trying to decide on a tail... I like a few but just haven't yet hit on that one that shouts at me.

As far as ordering the paint, the part numbers they use to match your paint is the paint code from your year and model. If you get online at paintscratch.com you'll see how to order.

Hi Jeff,

I noticed that they also do provide paint for wheel and trim. I wonder if they would be a good source to provide the paint to match my Targa wheels...I need to fix some curb rash on one of the wheels and just need to paint the rim. Did they have a short turn around time?

Cheers,

Mike

Absolutely beautiful work, Jeff...!!! There is something about that color - it's just outstanding......

(PS - want to sell your old factory right hand splitter? I'm looking for a good one that hasn't been "dorked" by a P, and is filled with BONDO - and haven't found one, yet...)

Mike,

Delivery took about a week, so not bad. I used standard delivery, but I guess they could offer an even faster service... I didn't look into it so I'd contact them if you wanted something sooner.

John,

Thanks for the compliments, and I agree about the color. Also, I haven't decided about the old splitters. I'm torn in that so far I've kept every bit of the original hardware that I've upgraded or replaced. I even have the original suspension pieces (shocks/springs/swaybars) when I put on the ROW M030. If I do decide to get rid of the splitters I'll let you know ASAP. I'd like to see how the new ones hold up... or maybe another Rennlister can tell me what to expect? Anyone have problems with aftermarket splitters?
