I remember there were two forms need to be filled out. One was DHL Import Custom Power of Attorney form, and the other one was DOT form. Are they the ones you guys referring to?

Back in 2013, I ordered a set of Tramont Cups for my C4S. At that time Tramont did not arrange shipping, that was my responsibility. The ensuing shipping was stunningly complicated. In a nutshell…shipper refused to accept them in two boxes, demanded they be palletized. That changed the shipping to “large freight “, and instead of $230ish, now $1500ish. Stop shipment ordered, but with the time difference…didn’t hit the parcel until it was on the ground in Tennessee. Where it was then immediately sent back to France…”large freight, another $1500ish, AND damaged. The whole thing ended when a Rennlister knew the CEO of FED EX, and sent him the mindless ramblings from me on these very pages. There was eventually a happy ending.

So, I wanted set for the new to me 03 Boxster S…I reached out to Christine directly, asked if she remembered that ill fated first order all those years ago. Yes she did indeed, and while the discount I was provided wasn’t 10%, the order went in.

So, now those wheels are sitting in Cleveland, Ohio(day 2) awaiting me to submit DOT/import paperwork. But…and this is where I get completely confused…Tramont nor DHL seem to know how to provide that paperwork. I spent hours yesterday, and essentially been on this since 6am EST today, when Christine again alerted me about the paperwork need.

It’s like she hasn’t done this 50+ times previously.

Remarkable to believe…

Anyway…I assume that everyone here who bought these lovely wheels previously from Tramont…had to submit the same import documents. Anyone remember the process, cause it’s apparent that Tramont doesn’t.
I shipped a few cars to Iceland in the '90s. It was nowhere near as complicated as what you just posted...

DHL customer service finally had a human available after 7am MST…though English likely wasn’t her primary tongue. She send an “alert” to customs, DHL regional location, Miss Piggy, or Triumph the Insult Comic Dog…I have no idea what she was saying.

Two hours later I get a text from DHL with a link to submit the paperwork…linky no worky.

Find one that does work, and make multiple attempts to submit the paperwork. Success!

I ask for a follow up phone call, but don’t get one.

Then I start getting a flood of emails, each contradicting one another…action needed, parcel held. Paperwork submitted, all good…then another action needed.

Good thing the wheels are as beautiful as they are…

correct. 285/30 is what i normally run, but my tire was discontinued and i was in a hurry, so i went with current set up, but going back to 285/30 or 295/30 next set.

I am trying to work up the best ET for my wheel build (10.5 x 17)

holy crap guys! i ordered my set from christine a few years ago and NONE of this drama ensued. it was smooth and painless and they arrived weeks before their due date. the only issue i had was with the DHL delivery driver who wanted me to sign for the wheels before inspecting them. needless to say i told the driver to pack sand. the wheels are definitely worth it. they look just about perfect on the 993.

It’s just me…that one in a million chance that brings lottery numbers I ain’t got. The “that never happened before” $hit show odds, ya, I got ‘em.

Still don’t have a tire brand/size determined, nor the suspension update finalized. So time is on my side there anyway. Speaking of suspension update, I’m trashing the H&R SS set-up on the 993, looking for something new. Nam, eventually wanna talk to you.

Gonna be twinsies, the 993 and the Boxster…kinda.

Update, my wheel was delivered today. No paperwork submitted to DHL, no call from them, etc. Whatever Christine submitted was enough to get it to my door.

Christine is quoting 900 euros for shipping to California via DHL. The prices of the wheels themselves are fine but shipping is exorbitant. Sigh.

Can someone post current pricing of the wheels and shipping to East Coast … guessing shipping isn’t much cheaper.

Wheels are approximately 700-800 euros a piece. Shipping from Fr to MD around 800-850 euros.
