Brings back many memories. I've always enjoyed working on the car, but I'm glad some projects are behind me.

I have three sets of tires.

It is now wet here in Norcal so I switched to my Cups 17s, which have Bridgestone RE 050As. They don't make these anymore and were the ones that came with my car. My car was in storage for several years and so the tires have lots a tread left and in good shape. I know the tires are old so will be my commuting tires and will not be pushing the car in the them.

My other tires are Hankook Ventus RS-3s on my 3pc. Works 18s, which I ran this summer. Very sticky but are basically done and need to be replaced.

I also recently got a great deal on a near new set of Continental Extreme Contacts on 1pc OZ 18s. Got them from a RLister and were his track tires before he sold is 993. Wheels are very light compared to the two above. I got this set for AX/HPDE time this spring. Also sitting in storage and never tried them.

This spring will try the tires to get a feel which ones I like.

How did you set your PSS10? How many clicks front and rear?
I am using 4 and 6 (front and back). Have not messed with the dials yet.

I think you’ll find the suspension can handle much stickier rubber than before, without feeling like you are overdriving it. I’ll be curious to hear what you think of the ExtremeContacts, those look interesting.

For the PSS10, try 6 front and 7 rear. If you are anything like me, you’ll love that setting.

Haha. My wife would throw me out of the house if I did another extended wrench project at our place right now. We just had our 3rd baby daughter and so was on a tight timeline to finish and get my ride out of our primary garage!

I'll help you at your place. I saw you had a scissor lift which I would love to have eventually.

I guess I am a creature of habit. As good software product development practices I try to get my teams to document everything which is spilling over to here

Thanks for the belts. Sure they will be used in due time and will make it part of this blog.

Thanks for the worksheet and tips to do the DIY alignment. Saved me a lot of time trying to determine the right values.

Default Italian tune-up to Bixby Bridge

Today was our monthly car club drive. Since my car isn't fully dialed in yet we decided to layoff the twisties and just cruise down the coast. I swapped out my Cups back to my pretty Works wheels as I need to get my Cups re-balanced. Stance looks much better with these wheels. Very pleased with the look and the more I drive her how she feels with my suspension update.

It was a beautiful sunrise. Wish my commute was like this everyday...

Rocky Creek Bridge and Bixby Bridge near Big Sur, CA. PCH is still shut down south of it so not many make the drive down here. Such a beautiful part of California...

Ended up at Wagon Wheel restaurant in Carmel, CA for some coffees before I had to peel off to head back to Home to tend to my dad duties this afternoon. Really pretty photo ops here and for those of you going to Rennsport great place to snap a few pics of your rides.

Ahh, brings back memories....less than 90 min from Carmel to Pismo Beach, even stopping for this pic. Once in a blue moon drive down 1. Unfortunately, I paid for it from Santa Barbara to San Diego.

Default Corner balance and alignment day at Roger Krause Racing

Today I was finally able to get my car into Roger Krause Racing for a corner balance and alignment job. Roger Krause Racing has been setting up race cars and supplying race tires since the 70s here in the Bay Area. They came highly regarded from Steve Weiner/Rennsport Systems, Elephant Racing, and FDM. I knew why as I started talking to Roger Krause who is the owner he shared with me his history with our cars over the years. He used to upgrade and dial-in all of the new torsion bar 911s as we jokingly call SUV height to RS spec for the local Porsche dealers. They would outsource their work to him as no one else knew how to do it right. He showed me all of his homegrown alignment "programs" (which are fancy excel spreadsheets) for the different race cars he works on. Pulled up the 993 one he had on file and told me what I should setup my car to, and exactly what you all shared with me when I did some research what the ideal parameters were. Pulled out the fabled Kinematic Toe alignment tool and said lets get to work! At this point was pretty comfortable his guys knew what they were doing. The job took about 3 hours for the corner balance and alignment. They said my car was already in decent spec so only minor adjustments were needed, so was pretty happy my work to get the ride height setup and the simple DIY string alignment to line up the toe/camber/caster shaved off some labor $$$.

Look at this massive rear race wheel. It was from an early 80's 962 IMSA/Group C race car. 28.5" x 14.5" race slick on a 17" wheel. To put it in perspective, that his office desk behind it.

overcast, gray day in Tampa Bay, so this thread is a great way to spend the afternoon waiting for some big event later tonight (finally finished watch the Rolex this morning). Such great work, and write-up. Those pictures are truly worth a thousand words. Thank you for reigniting my interest in getting under the car again.

He gave me what he called the "Aggressive street" setup

Camber
-1.2/-1.2 Degree Front
-1.7/-1.7 Degree Rear

Toe
1/16 Inch total toe-in Front
1/8 Inch total toe-in Rear

Caster
5.6/5.6 Degree Front
4.5/4.5 KT Rear

Car feels great so far. The light/twitchy steering is gone. I'll know more this spring once I have a few rounds of AX/track time to push her to the limits.
