My car is treated with Gtechniq Crysal Serum.

It is not as hard as glass, as some detailers will claim, but it does provide a hard protection layer on top of the paint. So, if your paint gets scratched or get hairlines from washing, you can polish them out by working the protection coating rather than polishing into the paint.
The shine of the car is spectacular and dirt does seem to wash off a lot easier than usual.

Ceramic and 'glass' coatings (Opti-Coat, Modesta, Miyabi, etc) last the longest - as they are 'semi-permanent' layers added on top of the clear coat. If properly applied and maintained, they can last for several years.
Synthetic and polymer sealants (Sonax PNS, Powerlock, etc) can last for 6-12mo's, depending on how much use and how many washes the car receives.
A natural wax (ie carnuba) lasts for 2-6mo's, again, depending on use and wash frequency.
Synthetic sealants and coatings were criticized initially for looking dull or foggy compared with the clarity and shine of a classic carnuba wax. But the modern formulations are pretty awesome. Can't really go wrong with the appearance and longevity of modern sealants or coatings.

Three Wheelin'
What do you think of the Collinite No 476 Wax? It says it uses both carnauba and synthetic and lasts for a year. Is it similar or as good as the nano treatments being discussed?

Ceramic Pro is the only coating I'll use or recommend.
Ceramic Pro is the only ceramic coating that reflects positively on your carfax and autocheck reports. As in, once you have the paint corrected and Ceramic Pro professionally applied, not only does it do an INCREDIBLE job protecting your paint and keeping the car cleaner for twice as long (not an exaggeration), but it benefits the resale of your car (like that's ever going to happen).
That's my suggestion.

When something uses the term "Ceramic" and can be applied in liquid form, sounds like snake oil to me.
I like a regular sealant like the Menzerna product, easy to apply, cost effective and lasts months. But I am old fashioned too.
Cheers,
Mike
