Driving shoes for the wide footed person?
I am looking to get a Christmas present of driving shoes for a family member but they take an 8 Wide. I have not seen any racing shoes that have a wide size. Does anyone know of something that will work? Thanks.

Hello,
I have wide feet. I bought a set of the regular Racer Wholesale shoes with no problem. Their actually fairly comfortable too.

I bought the latest Adidas Tuscany and Monza both racing style driving shoes, not for actualy racing use as they are not FIA approved, but perfect for driving even on the track...

Hey TrackJunke,
I have a size 13 (US) foot and started with a pair of Pilotis, which fit quite well and were available in large sizes. I moved to a pair of Sparcos as I really wanted the narrower and thinner sole, and they fit quite well. The hard part was getting the larger sizes in the Sparcos, and I had to special order them from Italy. I think the size is a European 47 or 48, but they were the biggest size whatever that may be.
The Sparcos are quite narrow at the sole, which is what I wanted. However, the body of the shoe is made of suede (or something like that) and is quite flexible. They feel as comfortable as the Pilotis when driving, but the Pilotis are much better if you're going to be walking around in them for any length of time. The Sparcos probably won't hold up to lots of use, and you can feel almost everything underfoot, which can be quite uncomfortable when there are lots of rocks and other debris!
