By the way, this is how modern Audis look like. Other than that they've got a tail light strip across the back and a similarly large infotainment display I can't make out anything looking remotely similar to the 992 mules, or even the Panamera.

The buffeting is a caused by air entering the cabin (due to the inside air being at lower pressure than outside) and then being expelled (when the air reaches a volume great enough for the inside pressure to be higher than the outside pressure). The frequency and resonance mainly affect the human ear. You can mitigate it by changing the interior volume- by having a passenger, or by popping the rear of a sunroof. So I would posit laminar flow would be improved by stopping the buffeting- et that it is improved by the little edge on the AWE triangle. But I seriously doubt there is likely to be any noticeable differential resistance or fuel consumption in any case.
PS My Macan has the same problem: both front windows down is starts at around 40 mph.

The foils probably do add resistance. Swapping to ruf style mirrors on an early car makes something like a 10mph difference in top speed.

I didn't describe what I'm talking about right... the thought is that, when they make the cars more crisp, boxy, with more defined creases, but in the same way that other manufacturers are doing, it erases what makes them different. So they're smoothing out what makes the cars different across the board, even if that may mean making a particular car more angular, is what I was trying to say.

I believe so and I don't have an issue with auto as long as there is a proper twin/dual clutch gearbox. It's 2018 and manufacturers like AM still think it's acceptable to stick these dated slushboxes in their entire line of cars that average north of 200k MSRP...
I was hoping when they decided to put merc motors and electronics in their new models that they would also source the gearboxes from them as well. The new Vantage and AMG GT-S are basically siblings at this point but the AMG can be had for less money and with a proper gearbox. It makes no sense.
The only way I would buy the AM is with a manual which just isn't an option for me with my daily driving around west LA and my weekend canyon car will always have a Porsche badge

Maybe I'm crazy, but the 992 to me looks like a 991 with Lincoln rear taillights, squared off front and different door handles. While I'm not a huge fan, it's definitely not camaro, Aston or Audi.
