tire pressure puzzle for the experts
992.1 CS had for 3 months
Since day one I noted RT front tire PSI couple of points below LT tire .
Every two weeks TPMS light will come on -5 or - 6 . Fill it with air . Nothing on tire inspection by myself . No big deal small nail resulting in small air leak ... Check at dealer at some point .
fast forward till today
drove car at 8 for a pickle ball match . PSI on arrival 32 PSI equal to left . I keep that screen on because of above
3 hours later , start car red warning -32 RT front tire PSI zero
call Porsche assistance 2 hours ETA
called my sons to try sealant kit ... Missing a part , so we did not add sealant but decided to try inflating tire and drive to their house
tire inflated to 50 to allow for leak , drove 3 miles , tire remains inflated at 50
went had lunch, 2 hrs passed by , came back still at 50 . Inspected tire carefully , nothing apparent. No nail no bolt
decided to drive car home 20 miles ... no issue
now 6 hrs later still at 50
puzzle . What can cause such a behavior
obviously a puncture will not hold pressure for this long . Twice as long as the original episode with zero leak
my son's theory is a bad tire bead from factory and car was parked at an angle which resulted in the leak
what say you ?

Interesting theory. Or possibly the inflation valve was not fully seating until you ran the pressure up to 50. If I have leaks, I use a soapy water solution to see if any bubbles are forming on the tread, carcass, bead seat, or valve.
I've had several valves leak over the years. I'd just unscrew it and put a new one in. Any car parts place will sell them for $2. How closely did you inspect the tire for nails or shrapnel? I've had thin metal like paper clips puncture my tires and cause very slow leaks. I'd be surprised if it was the bead.

but against a puncture
went from 32 to zero in 3 hours
now not a drop in PSI after 6 hours
I had a car that was suseptible to a similar phenomenon, air leak would be 0 to 10psi in 25 hours depending on the postion of the rim on the ground. One was hairline Crack on inside lip of wheel other was a bad bead that bent just enough when directly above the ground to allow leakdown.

We had something similar happen to my wife's RS6 in spring. One morning, we found a tire was completely deflated. I re-inflated the tire and it's been holding pressure since. I suspect a small piece of dirt jammed the valve causing the slow leak and re-inflating the tire dislodge the piece of dirt fixing the issue.
I recently had a puncture on my front right tyre during the afternoon session of AutoX. After the first run, the tyre pressure was 2 PSi lower than the left. I chalked that up to the left facing the sun during lunch and waiting. After the second run, evened out the pressure and waited my turn for the run. During these 5 minutes, I seemed to have lost 4 PSi, thinking the TPMS hadn't updated from stationary to driving 50ft and not hitting 15mph yet.
After the second run, I could hear a very small hiss coming from the tyre, filled it up and went for another 2 runs. Tyre held the pressure just fine, even going up as the tyre heated up.
During the 4th run, low pressure warning popped up mid run and I could hear the hissing sound louder. I went over something sharp and had caused a tear in the tyre.
It dropped from 35psi to about 24 psi in the next hour, but held up just fine for the 3hour drive back home at 36 PSi after filling it up. Next morning, dropped to 24 psi, I filled it up to 40psi as I drove to a dealership to see if they could fit me in for the replacement.
The following morning, it went from 38psi to 0 overnight.
Bottom line, I had a tear in the tyre, but it still had a mind of its own the first day.
Keep an eye on it and carry on for the time being. Make sure you have a decent tyre inflator with you.

I had a similar experience in Canada this summer. My F150 Porsche (new model) would randomly lose pressure over a period of days, confimed with a real tire guage. I could drive hundreds of miles with no loss or sit overnight and lose 10+ PSI. It turned out to be a puncture with no evidence left behind. Depending on the position of the puncture relative to the gound it would leak air, Soap and water confirmed the leak, which was quite large, in certain positions and no leak in others. Plugs and compressors are your friends. Back in Florida, Michelin provided a set of leak free replacements for $1100. Much less than for my 992! Your mileage may vary,

called AAA was 45 min wait , so I am glad I kept my membership active despite I rarely if ever used it the past 15 years
Porsche assist offered 60 dollars Uber voucher
also i dropped a pin for location with Porsche assist which was easier than AAA who needed an actual address
