Said goodbye to my 992 after 17 months...

Disagree on Toyota. Their trucks suck now, the LC is dead in North America. Hybrid powerplants are a fail in the Tundra/Sequoia. Cabin space, headroom, shoulder room all gone. New tundras are cramped and feel like a Jeep Wrangler. Fake V8 sounds from the speakers. No front tow hooks? Huge chin for aero to meet MPG standards. Just awful. That all goes for the Tacoma too.

Why can't people just be happy for the OP?
It's certainly not your money, your time, and definitely not your car.
Just be happy for the guy.
He found his true car love. We should all be so lucky.

EVs are about as boring as it gets as far as I’m concerned. I was so happy to turn in my polestar 2 lease. Even with the performance pack the blistering acceleration gets old fairly quick. I really missed the soul of driving an ice vehicle as well as not being held hostage by software updates(mostly bad). I read the little blip in Panorama about a survey where almost half of US EV drivers would be returning to ice for their next vehicle. YMMV.

in the end, one reason I posted was as a heads up to the guys out there who, like me, may have never driven a 992 but had it on a pedestal as the “ultimate” Porsche, and are out there fighting for an allocation and doing whatever to be able to finally buy one…. they should drive one and really make sure it’s worth it before they pull the trigger. I’ve had 7 Porsches, and I love Porsches, so i’m not a hater, but I think all the hype and mystique of the 911 and the allocation process and everything oversold it and led to a ho-hum experience for me. I described it somewhere else as a “don’t meet your heroes” situation. Happy motoring guys.

I can't really understand how a car enthusiast could like this vehicle...it's so boring

I had their 800 RR SCS 3 years ago, dropped due to stupid SCS system and then sold. They are quirky machines and the 800 didn't sound good. It sounded disappointingly like a sewing machine. This seems like an RS model and should sound better.
And get rid of those rear view mirrors man.....get those CRG arrow ends

Interesting. It's likely the least engaging performance vehicle of its time. It's competent and fast...that's it. The engine is a snoozefest in It's power delivery and stock sound. So much so, in fact, that bmw had to put in that ridiculously stupid popping and burbling in sport plus.

judging by their current M lineup I’d agree with your assessment though

PDK is the fastest transmission I've experienced. I am surprised by the OP comments. I would never trade my 992 for a Taycan. Sacrilege. That is like trading a Rolex for an apple watch.
I am not anti EV for a disposable daily drivers. Wife has a Tesla and she loves it. But that's all there is. Disposable method of transportation.

Um, you are aware Toyota is recalling 102,000 non-hybrid Tundra and some Lexus engines right?

Read the article. It confirms what I said.
There is a possibility that certain machining debris may not have been cleared from the engine when it was produced.

We don't have the very best "sport" EVs yet. I am worried that Porsche may on purpose make Cayman/Boxster EV not as good so they can keep selling 911s and also Taycans.
Regardless OP is happy with Taycan and he made good points.
