.
The hybrid engines had a manufacturing issue so it's not an inherent design flaw. They will be fine. As far as cabin room, haven't been in the new tundra but the new taco finally got a real engine and more space

Why can't people just be happy for the OP?

It's certainly not your money, your time, and definitely not your car.

Just be happy for the guy.

He found his true car love. We should all be so lucky.

Agree but it is,after all, a forum. Everybody has an a**hole and an opinion.

Most ice sedans have zero soul. I have a 21 bmw m5 comp....no soul whatsoever. It may as well be an ev

Thanks for saying that. I’m the OP, and honestly this thread is about 60 posts longer than I expected it to be 😂 but it’s all good. I’ve enjoyed following along.

in the end, one reason I posted was as a heads up to the guys out there who, like me, may have never driven a 992 but had it on a pedestal as the “ultimate” Porsche, and are out there fighting for an allocation and doing whatever to be able to finally buy one…. they should drive one and really make sure it’s worth it before they pull the trigger. I’ve had 7 Porsches, and I love Porsches, so i’m not a hater, but I think all the hype and mystique of the 911 and the allocation process and everything oversold it and led to a ho-hum experience for me. I described it somewhere else as a “don’t meet your heroes” situation. Happy motoring guys.

Um, you are aware Toyota is recalling 102,000 non-hybrid Tundra and some Lexus engines right?

I owned a 21 m5c myself and I find this statement impossible to believe. In fact it’s probably the best m car bmw has ever made.

Interesting. It's likely the least engaging performance vehicle of its time. It's competent and fast...that's it. The engine is a snoozefest in It's power delivery and stock sound. So much so, in fact, that bmw had to put in that ridiculously stupid popping and burbling in sport plus.

I can't really understand how a car enthusiast could like this vehicle...it's so boring

And get rid of those rear view mirrors man.....get those CRG arrow ends
The 1000cc 4 cyl is a different class of machine from the MV 800 triples. Titanium connecting rods, titanium radial valves, hemispherical combustion chambers. It's the best sounding four cylinder on the market.

I don’t think it’s boring in stock form however I did put in an akrapovic exhaust and coded out the active sound.

judging by their current M lineup I’d agree with your assessment though

This must be satire.

PDK is the fastest transmission I've experienced. I am surprised by the OP comments. I would never trade my 992 for a Taycan. Sacrilege. That is like trading a Rolex for an apple watch.

I am not anti EV for a disposable daily drivers. Wife has a Tesla and she loves it. But that's all there is. Disposable method of transportation.

I also liken EVs to disposable appliances. Quality is mostly sus and when they have too many problems just ditch em’ and repeat.

Read the article. It confirms what I said.

There is a possibility that certain machining debris may not have been cleared from the engine when it was produced.

Replacing horse pulled carts with engines OR in modern world NA with turbo engines might be sacrilege for some also. Just opinions, nothing more.

We don't have the very best "sport" EVs yet. I am worried that Porsche may on purpose make Cayman/Boxster EV not as good so they can keep selling 911s and also Taycans.

Regardless OP is happy with Taycan and he made good points.
