Default For those without PSE

What buttons does it show on the dash if you didn’t get the PSE option?

Depends on how you spec the car... I have the front axle lift, so I only have one diamond programmable button.

I have a TTS incoming and didn’t get the PSE so I can retain the quad exhaust look. I’m planning to add the PSE via programming and curious if I can replace one of the programmable buttons with the factory PSE button.

My previous C2 had a "Wet" button in place of the exhaust button.

I have done the PSE programming on all 2 of my 992s that I opted to get the quad exhaust (2 targas).. My first 992 in 2020 had PSE. It is about 70-80% of the sound, and I also like the look of the quads better.

There is one downside that I have found with the programming of the PSE, and it is minor but worth noting. If you have two blank programable buttons on the front area selection, you will only be able to program one of those for PSE, the other will not be able to be programmed. In the case you have FAL and only one, you will have no problem as the one can be programed for PSE or whatever you want.

For those with two "open" buttons you can only program one. The other one becomes a pseudo dead button each time you press it will ask you to program, but if you do it will override the other button. So you can replace the button with a PSE symbol button, but the other is non-programmable (ie. will override the other one). I am sure there is some hardcode somewhere in the programming where you have to hard code a switch to let it use both programmable buttons independently, but once you enable PSE it seems to allow only one.

With that said, I did not program the PSE switch on either of the control buttons, as I turn mine to sport when I get in, so just like a normal PSE exhaust it turns on the PSE exhaust automatically - just like it does with the PSE.

I ended up using the second button as surround view and the open one on the steering wheel as my homelink. The first one I just don't touch as if you do, it will have the pop up message that ask you to select a command. Which if you do, that now becomes the command for that button and you loose whatever was programmed in the second (if that makes sense).

Mine had two diamonds. I added the sports exhaust muffler and changed out the switch assy because one of the diamonds became inoperable after coding for sports exhaust. Now has one diamond programed for my garage door and the sports exhaust switch.

Question for all who did the PSE programming on a non-PSE car...

I installed the Cargraphic controller after weighing the pros and cons of PSE programming (however, I really wish I had the cool binoculars switch). What difference in sound is there between a Cargraphic controller that fully opens the valves versus the PSE programming which (I'm assuming) opens the valves to the Porsche setting (which is, from what I read, never 100% open except for the cold start)?

The Cargraphic will be louder as the PSE programming will vary how much open the valves are, so the Cargraphic (or equivalent) would be more open, and thus more sound, louder cold start, etc. If you have Cargraphic you would not need to do the PSE programming.

Ahhh... that's what I figured. I don't have any of the burbles or pops that people seem to have (I have a manual transmission), so I was wondering if my not having the PSE exhaust had something to do with it. I thought the Cargraphic controller would let me hear them, but them not being there isn't an issue. It's a cool party trick on my Acura Integra Type S, but I find myself shutting it off after a little while, 'cause it just sounds so racer boy and attention seeking.

Base 2024 C2. No PSE. No Sport Chrono. No programable buttons on dash. Buttons are factory allocated to Wet Mode, Sport, PASM, and PSM. Programmable diamond button on steering wheel. I use it for Surrond View.

I have PSE and the burbles and pops is virtually non-existent even in sport mode. It is super mild and my car is fully broken in with 15K miles AND I have the M Engineering tune that forces exhaust valves to be 100% open in sport mode and it still has super mild, barely noticeable burbles. So I'm just saying you are not missing much with your non-PSE exhaust. In fact, you have gained by saving a few thosand dollars and having the much better looking quad exhaust tips.

Really? I think mine gets pretty loud on lift after hard throttle at high rpm.
