that does not happen with mine (2024). I programmed two separate things for my 2 diamond open slots. First is auto start stop off and second is turn on camera. Never had an issue with overriding either
I have PSE and the burbles and pops is virtually non-existent even in sport mode. It is super mild and my car is fully broken in with 15K miles AND I have the M Engineering tune that forces exhaust valves to be 100% open in sport mode and it still has super mild, barely noticeable burbles. So I'm just saying you are not missing much with your non-PSE exhaust. In fact, you have gained by saving a few thosand dollars and having the much better looking quad exhaust tips.
this 100% when I got mine (stock quad exhaust) and turn it on it’s pretty loud and was like why would anyone want it louder. In sport mode it’s got decent burbles and crackles and sport plus it really opens up. Couldn’t imagine wasting more money on Porsche options to sound slightly different, also single exhausts are lame

i got to experience PSE and non PSE back to back and despite thinking the PSE is quiet I assure you base exhaust is even quieter. I retrofitted PSE to my car and got to hear the difference in very close proximity. I know people tend to get used to volume so I’ve time you may get inundated to exhaust sound and desire more. I think also the PSE prominence is right at the level where it’s substantial in a quiet environment but in a noisy environment it will easily get beat out by ambient noise. It’s enough for my neighbors comment, not to where anybody is disturbed but they say they know every time I’m around.
Bump since I couldn't find an answer,
Anyone tried retrofitting a switch panel with exhaust button (without PSE) and just having dealer activate PSE function? I have a 2020 with no programmable buttons (WET/SPORT/TRACTION/SUSPENSION) wondering if anyone's attempted this.

Someone definitely did this on one of the PSE retrofit threads and claimed that it would ONLY work with a panel that included a PSE button. Someone else claimed that they were able to map PSE to a diamond button.
Given how your stock panel is configured, does that mean that you don’t have Sport Chrono?
Ahhh... that's what I figured. I don't have any of the burbles or pops that people seem to have (I have a manual transmission), so I was wondering if my not having the PSE exhaust had something to do with it. I thought the Cargraphic controller would let me hear them, but them not being there isn't an issue. It's a cool party trick on my Acura Integra Type S, but I find myself shutting it off after a little while, 'cause it just sounds so racer boy and attention seeking.
To be sure, 'burbles and pops' is actually more a function of the tune than the physical exhaust routing... so 'just adding' PSE won't really get you more noise. You also need to be in sport or sport+ mode, or use the M-engineering tune where you can request however much noise you feel is socially acceptable (during deceleration the tune will dump some amount of unburned fuel in to the exhaust stream which 'pops' when it hits the hot turbos). FWIW on BMW tuning by MHD, you can actually dial in both the duration and aggressiveness of the burbles from the iphone app itself, very cool.

though the PSE muffler enhances the burbles a lot. I remember when I had base exhaust the burbles were there and then when I added the PSE muffler but did not have PSE software feature enabled yet, the burbles were much more obvious.
