Default Can't Change 992.1 Before Lock Date

I placed an order last month for my first Porsche a 992.1 4 GTS for October with a lock date of July 7th. I'd like to make some changes to the car but my rep says the only way possible is for me to send him a new porsche code. However some of the options are differnt of whats required with what package on the 992.1 versus the 992.2 so I am unable to make the same car. For example the GTS interior package on 992.1 made you select the carbon fiber interior but it doesn't on the 992.2 and on the 992.1 I could have the GTS interior package with the gt leather steering wheel but it does not allow it on the 992.2. He seems to believe without a new porsche code I can't make changes but I don't understand why I can't tell him what to change as I'm concerned the new porsche code won't create the same car. Any suggestions here?

992.1 configurator is gone now I think. Sounds like it’s stay with your configurator you have on 992.1, or if you update your configurator with new configurator your 992.2 Hybrid GTS.

Your rep can internally make a change(s) without a new build code. If he/she does not know how then the sales manager does. I accomplished this myself just last week via my SA.

My freeze date is 7/9 and i called my SA to make a change and he did it then emailed me the updated build sheet with same build number.. He did say that next week will be the last time I can make any changes. Call the GM if he can't do it.

Canadian configurator is still up for 992.1...codes may be the same as US.

The steering wheel can be done in leather. The only differences you’ll have to get the carbon fiber trim on the steering wheel. Choose the GT leather steering wheel with Matt Carbon option. . I thought the same as you and then I saw it appear in the summary.

Thank you all for the help here. SK911 ended up with the winning formula they were able to take the Candian Porsche Code and send me the new build in USD. Thanks Canada

Glad it all worked out, but in reality they should have been able to change it very easily without a new build code. As previously stated, I did exactly such last week.

Yeah I had called in after your reply and was sending him texts of your message and fantoms. All I kept hearing was the same thing I heard for two weeks which was that they were having a computer issue and could not change the build without a new build code. Considering I have to buy a watch with the car you'd think they would be a little more helpful.
