Rear brake light bar. Anyone know how to code?
Rear light bar during day time is not lit all the way across. It's got the deadzone in the middle.
I have heard that is due to US regulation but it looks like a burnt bulb.
Is it possible to code for a continuous light across?
I do have a piwis 3 and a basic knowledge on coding. I appreciate it in advance.

If you're talking about enabling DRL for rear lights check out my post some time ago under Coding 992 with PIWIS.
There are no bulbs as they're LEDs which means you can't replace just "a" bulb. I doubt that's it though given MTBFs for LEDs. Check DTCs to narrow down the fault.

What I meant was the center portion of the brake light bar does not light up when the brake pedal is depressed during the daytime. When the headlight is on, then the entire length of the bar lights up.
When I first noticed it I thought the center LEDs were out like burnt bulbs like the ones on older cars.
Enabling it as DRL is an option.

I wonder if this isn't intentional to highlight BRAKE vs running light. If no CEL thrown, I would poke around BCM1, see post #37 for rear DRL

This has been discussed, and think is standard functionally for certain years in the US. My 2024 lights up all the way across. I think that's the reason the OP is looking for the coding, if this is US centric for a certain year, and ROW world is solid for his particular year.

He can poke around BCM1 to see. I can't remember what my 2021 does, I"m never back there to see when I press the brakes

I will look into BCM1 as Siberian mentioned. Knowing which module to dig into is almost half of the work.

I was watching my wife backing out of the garage when I noticed it and now I can’t unseen it lol
I will dig into BCM1 and report back what I find.
My C2S is 2020 build by the way.

Personally, I would leave it as is to differentiate between rear DRL and braking. AAMOF, I even placed LEDs into the rear reflectors coupled to my brake circuit on my Treg. But I don't want them on when my lights or DRLs are on. Just saying... YMMV

This is normal behavior. It happens when you hit the brakes during daylight with or without DRL on. When headlights and rear tail lights are actually illuminated at night the whole light bar and third brake light will light up with no gap when you hit the brakes. I’m not sure why Porsche did this but I’m pretty sure it’s this way on all 992s in the US.

I would guess if you leave the lights on all the time instead of auto the full bar will be illuminated

Same here in Asia.....
Daytime (light bar center not light up)
Auto headlight turned on while under the bridge. (light bar center on)
