With the disappointment of the 992.2 - what other cars are you considering?

If you want a special car / vehicle get a Cybertruck. It will be iconic for the next 100 years and drives like nothing out there. Different to a 911 obviously , but not less special , I would argue it's more interesting.

2 years ago I took a step backwards and traded my daily 911 (06 C2) in for a LS 460 (14) as my 997 was approaching 100k miles and the lexus only had 15k. Was a straight even trade. I still have 2 P cars, my wife's daily is a 970 Turbo S, and we have a 16 spyder. I drove the spyder to work yesterday and immediately realized why I stopped wanting to daily the 911 to begin with. I want a GT car, but not something stiff or manual.
I'm looking at swapping into one of the following in the next year or two. Max year would be a 2016 as I dont want the damn thing tracking my diving (look into lexis nexis driver score). The car needs to be a 2 door.
Used Maserati GT
Used Ferrari California, but not likely a T,
Used Bentley Continental

Most likely will wait for new 992.2 T or hopefully rumors of a RWD 992.2 Turbo are true, although I suspect that car will be unattainable without significant ADM. I had the 991.2 T and it was a GREAT car but needs to be more special and I wasn’t as impressed with 992.1 T version.
You missed out on a great vehicle.

I’m looking forward to new 992.2 T but hope Porsche takes it up a notch with more special touches and more focus on engagement.
The Rimac Nevera for example is the fastest car but they can’t sell the thing bec it’s an EV and lacks character. It’s an amazing technological achievement but cars need to generate emotion especially sports cars.

You don't see many of them on the road, because again, they cost $2-3m car. This is not a matter of the car being boring.
Sometimes, the "emotion" that a car needs to generate is the thrill of terrifying and violent acceleration -- and that car accelerates beyond comprehension.
With that being said, if I was going to spend that kind of money on a car, the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 is the answer. The reality is that speed fades and you get desensitized to it. The driving experience is what endures and the T.50 will give you that in spades.
As amazing as it is, of course, I wouldn't spend that money on a car, because I'd rather invest it, fund scholarships, and do good for the world. I love cars and toys, but that's a crap ton of money to spend on a toy.

I'm not (and never was) considering a .2 GTS. I am, however, anxiously awaiting the reveal of the .2 GT3 and Turbo S. When I bought my .1 C2S, the intention all along was to 'trade up' to either the GT3 or Turbo S in a couple of years. With Porsche continuing to push the prices upward I'm now expecting to spend ~ $300-325k (inc ADM) for my next 911, so it's brought other brands/vehicles into focus. I'm now cross shopping the McLaren Artura or a lightly used 488 or 296. Clearly the 911 wins for practicality and reliability here, but $300k+ is approaching entry level supercar territory. The 911 is an INCREDIBLE value at $150-200k, but even the GT cars have some mighty competition when the price creeps up as much as we're seeing.

Rimac has even come out and said that their future cars may be ICE, they can see the writing on the wall. Very few $100+ millionaires out there want a car whose locomotion is essentially the same as a Chevy Bolt. I think it’s probably around 150.
In regards to the topic, I have been looking at the C8 Z06. They can be had for sticker and used pricing is coming down as well. I think I need to get my hands on one to test drive. I just wish the car had more visual changes vs. the base and less long white sock + shorts owners driving them.

And it will out perform a 992.1T in the quarter mile while towing a 911, right? Ohhh, wait…….Jason Fenske ? What? You mean that was another false representation by Elon?? Say it ain’t so.

I'm from Canada and had quite the spring where I had a 23 Z06 on order and was offered my Carrera T allocation just as my Z06 was finishing its production. It was a no brainer to take the Carrera T allocation as it was Ruby Star Neo and I was able to spec the car the way I wanted it which I felt would be one of my last opportunities for affordability of a 911. Someone above noted "I don't know how many folks are cross shopping 911s and C8s" and you would be surprised...many of us have gone to the C8 side and have now returned; myself included. The C8 was a dealio for what it was and loads of ex or current 911 owners went over but as noted by a few, GM has gone nuts with MSRP increases and now both the Stingray and Z06 are way too expensive in the Canadian market. Our 20% luxury tax combined with these MSRP increases has really weakened the Corvette market.
Sold my Z06 while the market was good. Carrera T will stay...just a fantastic car!

the original poster asked what other cars are out there, I think the Cybertruck is above and beyond anything being sold right now including Porsche. It is Jay Leno's daily now and he might have choices.
