Default Sacrilege or Brilliant?

As 992 owners, either new to the brand or loyal for decades, you'll have a certain perspective and bias. What do you think of something like this?

I think the fact that even though it has a manual transmission and the key on the left, the digital dash is a tragedy, amirite? And no rear wiper? Fail.

Don't get me started on the great thinker sitting back on a chair smoking a cigarette and reflecting on his greatness. Dario Pegoretti this guy ain't.

RWBs are awesome. There’s a long waitlist.
It’s art.

These are awesome. The fact that clients get ONE car -- regardless of how much they want to spend -- only adds to how unique each one is. If I could swing it, I would. These will likely be collectors pieces one day.

Just learning about RWB? Read up on his history and multi year wait list. He modifies 993 and 964 Porsches.

RWB is awesome.

It's like a JDM Singer.

Or maybe Singer is an American RWB.

Here’s a few photos from our recent Porsche and Pastries event in San Jose CA, hosted by Stevens Creek Porsche. May not be your style, but they are well known in the Porsche scene.

Yeah you need a bit of context to understand this guy, he's a bit of a legend in the community and has been doing this for a very long time. The list is years long and he allows no one else to do what he does. Do I like it? For the large majority of the examples no, every once in a while I'll see one that I would take. That being said I can always appreciate a small business that has a multi year waiting list and does things there way.

The positive feedback in here about RWB is interesting.

He seems to be mostly despised on the 993 board. All show and no go is the common complaint.

Personally, I've always considered his cars as functional art pieces. I wouldn't consider them equivalent to Singer who engineer their cars to drive better than OEM. RWBs, from what I've heard, at best drive the same as stock if not worse because of the super wide front track. Of course, that's not what they are about. They are the ultimate C&C car.

To me it is for those who want to stick out in a crowd and have the money (and in some cases little else) to do so.

But luckily judging others' taste costs just $0.

He's not trying to build the ultimate driving machine, he's making art. Everyone's free to interpret his art however they like. For me, RWB is dope. He swings for the fences and takes some wild shots. Not all of them connect, but that's beside the point.

RWB's are just as legendary as singer's - just for totally different reasons. He never claimed to make the fastest car but indeed car art. I also find it interesting that he seems to travel to his cars and not have the cars come to him. On the comment that people hate him in the 993 forum - well, I chuck this up as coming from some Porsche owners who despise any moditication on their precious car. Heck, I get snide comments for my rather modest modifications from folks who tell me how dare I modify something as perfect as a OEM 911. Oh well.
