Default 992.2 Base Spec - Delivery expected next month

Hi All,

Long time lurker on the forums. After owning a string of Macan GTS's in the past, I've desperately been wanting to get into a 911 and waited for the .2 before making any decisions.

Price was one of the factors that pushed me to the base model (GTS was looking to be around £145-150k). Having driven most of the 992.1 line up I was surpised with how well the base model held up against its bigger brothers.

Dealer got me a slot which to my surprise is due to be delivered within the next 6 weeks. As a result freeze date was yesterday and went with the following:

https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PSEUL9I6

Really love the look of this gen's aero kit especially the front bumper. Left off a lot of tech features as I wanted to keep the price below £120k. Cant wait to see what Vanadium Grey looks like in person!

Congrats. You're the first on here to post a locked configuration. Have fun refreshing TYD 10x a day.

Did you leave out GT steering wheel on purpose?

To be honest it was a complete oversight - I just assumed it was heating that was being added but can now see the changes. Emailed OPC to see if it can be added

Fingers crossed it can, worst case you can probably swap. I'd be calling them not emailing!

What's the reason for this can I ask?

It seems to suit the car better than the standard

The thicker grabs at 10 and 2 obscure more of the display.
But my bigger gripe is the standard wheel is clean looking with good trim. The GT wheel has plastic hex bolt heads in the corners, which are plastic and gimmicky and make it look cheap.

Im in the UK so imagine allocations are quicker due to location. The market over here seems vastly different compared to North America, allocations aren't as hard to come by

I prefer the standard wheel also for the same reasons.

I see what you mean, with the touch of red on the button I felt it suited the overall look of the car more. Guess I can change it after delivery if I don't get along with it

I think the GT wheel is slightly thicker and a tad smaller. As far as obscuring the dash, the difference is minimal and with the new 992.2 dash configuration, it become even less relevant.
