Genuine curiosity question: what's so special about the GT Wheel that makes it a must-have? I have it now and I wouldn't say it's anything to write home about.

In other European countries than UK the full leather interior is still 4k usd. You get base leather as standard which means no leather on the dash, no leather on the upper doorcards part(close to window). So full leather interior is imo a must have option.

McLaren steering wheels are thin and imo McLaren steering is some of the best if not the best in the industry. I would argue BMW went way too thick with their steering wheels.
To me, GT steering wheel is not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination

They’re different because the distributor in each country has final say in spec for their territory. The factory offers a range of choices, the distributor selects what they want.

OP - congrats on the allocation, and progress with build!
I'm in the Wash DC area and have my lock date on 992.2 C2 coming up Monday 6/10. We'll see if that holds. Been told to expect early/mid-August delivery, and that my delivery is scheduled to be the first for my dealership of the 992.2.
Here's my build. Also going w/Aero Kit - think it looks great on the .2!

OP, congrats. Love the look of the new car. So is this a 3.6 or a 3.0? Still confused about the base engine. Also, how are they building the .2 and the last .1's at the same time? They can do that? I thought once production shifted they don't build the older configuration. That's not the case?

The GT wheel feels better than any other steering wheel in any other car that I've driven (definitely not cheap looking). Although, the differences are small, IMO the base wheel doesn't have equally nice feel, i.e. it doesn't feel so nice to touch and turn around because of the lack of contours and it always looks and feels a bit cheap when I've driven a car with it. You can be content with your choice to switch to the GT wheel. I think most of the 992 owners would agree to this.

A very nice looking build.. have you considered changing to 18 way seats? and at that price I would add ventilated option too...I would also add the SURROUND view system... it works well NOW for Porsche
VANADIUM is a very cool standard cool.. good choice.. I also prefer the standard light option to the new design HD upgrades.. looks more classic

Only 3 models are made there...Cayman, Boxster and 911 and all are assembled on the same line...without any particular order. At each station, the installer is skilled in a particular task regardless of the model. The assembly line is not like the ones you see in the USA where parts are just pulled out of inventory as the car rolls down the line. The Porshe way is to have every part for that particular car assigned and pre-staged way before the car is even on the assembly line. When the car is ready to be assembled, those parts will be available at the installers station and installed. It's really like a choreographed dance. The system delivers the assigned parts staged in the order of the cars assembly to each installers station.
So, with 10 different Boxster/ Cayman models and the 27 different 911 models all on the same line...adding 6 new 2025 911 models using the same just-in-sequence assembly method is not adding a hiccup and should not be an issue until those 2024 orders cease. I assume after the German summer break the factory will begin full 2025 model production,
Yes, I'm starting to see people stating that their 992.2 deliveries in Europe are scheduled for late summer...about the same time I'm expected to have my 992.1 delivered in the US!
