yes I found that but I wish it wasn’t just a blue dot on bottom and then white growing larger… can really tell how high the white should be before they’re at operating temp to be able to push the car hard. But at least it’s something to go by.

Even if the title was unexpected cool things, people would still complain. Such is the internet.

If you have surround view, map it to one of the programable buttons (I use the diamond on the steering wheel) to activate when pulling into a parking spot to avoid scraping.

The 992 is certainly a great car. But it is entirely possible for an overall great thing to possess a few insufferable properties. If someone asks should you buy a 992 I would still say yes. But that doesn’t invalidate that the backup camera is poorly implemented. I tried to be specific about why it’s bad, the wide angle distortion misleads your brain on the distance of objects. Things that are far will approach quickly all of a sudden, and if you’re not quick on your brakes you could run into something.

I agree aside from the fact that it doesn't go off quickly when shifting out of reverse.

Typical smarta** answer. Thread title reads:

What are the unexpected things you should know about your 992?

Camera is on topic and other than smarta**es trying to pretend they have Senna DNA, a lot of people find them useful. Even if not central to the experience.

That was not what the thread title was.

But I’ll add something that most people don’t know… brake hold. Press hard down on the brake while stopped and it’ll hold the car until you hit the gas.

Can I stay subscribed to this thread, yet unsubscribe to the nonsense?

Another thing I have sort of figured it: When CarPlay gets confused and won't connect, I think cycling airplane mode or Wi-Fi on/off from the phone forces it to quickly retry and connect.

Anyone else confirmed this? I haven't had enough recent chances to recall the specific sequence I've used.

that is a feature on my Macan and the word “HOLD” shows in the dash. Nice feature. Is the a similar indication of hold on the dash?
