Default Thoughts on the 992.2 SportDesign Package?

1. Would you spec the full package or just one or two parts? If the latter, which ones and why?

2. Do any components of the SportDesign package reduce ground clearance and/or make the vehicle a worse daily driver in any way?

3. SportDesign package haters: I want to read your viewpoint too!

Thank you all very much for your responses!

Why would it make it worse? After all, the new 992.2 ring time was with the AeroKit (…which is the Sport Design package with the wing).

Well I wouldn’t imagine it would be worse on a track! But I recall reading that the SportDesign front fascia on the 992.1 lowers ground clearance by 10mm or so and therefore reduces the maximum safe approach angle vis-á-vis driveways, etc.

I think it loos nice, you will not have any ground clearance issue unless you spec the base with a PASM.

The GTS is already lowered 10mm, you can remove that option but you will lose the helper springs.

You're overthinking it.

Newbie question… is the aerokit and sport design bumpers/package one in the same? Meaning, are they mutually exclusive? The one I just bought has both and I love the look but can you get one without the other?

Yes, the bumpers are the same. The only difference between the two options are the front lips and the addition of the wing. Your car won’t have both on the Maroney. It’ll be one or the other. In other words, the AeroKit includes the SD bumpers and will be listed as “AeroKit”. The Sport Design package doesn’t include the specific AeroKit parts however.

Thank you! Well explained. I appreciate. Mine says aerokit so it makes sense.
