Definitely sad about the green myself. I'm certainly glad I was able to get my T rather than still being on the list waiting.

New targa gts starting price is more expensive than the current gt3. Oh well I think I need to keep my targa.

Haven't looked hard enough, but is there any changes to the physical size of the 992.2 GTS vs the .1GTS?

I am so....so...so glad I have a 992.1!!!
Things I personally do not like:
1. Analog tach now totally gone. Instrument cluster looks flat, boring now.
2. Push button start, why? Cheap, mass produced like everything else. They can say its like the race car, its also like my wifes Ford SUV, lol - cheapo. What happened 911, keep your distinction with the turn style and heritage?
3. Why change things just for the sake of changing things? For instance, rear light bar and front grill. Unnecessary. Rear looks, I guess ok, but why? Front...some don't like the 992.1, I get it, but this looks even more peculiar on the 992.2.
4. Red button, ok I guess if you want your steering wheel to look like Rudolph the red nosed deer, lol.
5. GTS front vertical grills, with all the cameras on it look....well, Mad Max, out of place, dysfunctional, non-symmetrical, ugh......
6. Hybrid = more power, ok....I get it, but more weight too, plus way-WAY too many new electric motor parts to break....mixed on this, plus more parts to break downstream
Things I personally like:
1. More wheel choices are always good. Do I prefer this design, no, but choices again are welcomed.
2. Like more hp, just not the delivery method.
Sigh.....very sad and disappointing day for me, but I am becoming a old fart...so my kids tell me all the time....so maybe I am the odd one out....I do know if I ever sell my spec'd 992.1, I will be going classic for sure now. Don't like the overall direction of Porsche in regards to the 911.

I'm kinda there with you. I've been really trying to get a GTS here for a month but no allocations have been available with anyone I've talked to yet. It's funny because I have my build sheet here and they did some wonky things with prices. Some options like the 18way seats went up in price, yet when I priced the Leather interior in Slate Gray/Chalk that was a $4,960 option last month where now it's only $430. Also having the option to put the rear seat back into the car at zero cost is nice..
However my build before was $194,430. The new build pretty much identical is $205,585...lol, so about a 10k increase for 60hp more? ( I know other improvements, but general spec wise it's option for option what I chose last time).
I'm there with you on the push button. I have push starts on most of our cars and absolutely hate it. It's probably one of the things I wish never existed. I do like turning the key, there is something about that motion that I do enjoy. I understand the LCD screen gauge cluster and the options that can be done with it, but I still very much like some things to be analog and a tach would be nice. That's a little disappointing that now it's all screens. Years from now I honestly don't think screens are going to age well in terms of overall design and aesthetics. I still look back at the IS300's gauge cluster and still love how it looks because it's just a very beauty design mimicking a watch face. I initially got dazzled by large screens in the cars such as MB, but now looking at it, I don't care for it.
I'm on the fence with the front vertical grills. Part of me likes it a lot, while another part is like, that's a bit much... it could be cleaner, but it looks aggressive at the same time.
I like updates but agree with you. Sometimes it's not always needed, there doesn't have to be a need to change stuff just to change it for the sake of doing it.
Happy about the power, mostly happy about the looks.... not as happy with other things.

Here is Car and Driver's take on it, with a photo set. Comes across to me as somewhat of an Emissions exercise. The internal water pump is scary - that's going to be quite pricey to replace I would imagine.

I think the value of my three pedal 992 S just went up. Looks like the manual trans is a thing of the past, or probably going to be left only for already unobtainable GT3's and special editions. Time marches on.....

With all the engine changes and new electronics, the early 992.2 models are going to have tons of TSB, much like the 992.1's did at launch. Absolutely zero interest in 'upgrading' from my PDK/RAS 992.1.

Seems like the brand is attempting to remain competitive with other luxury sports cars by focusing on acceleration times and technology. It's pretty bold of them to slap enthusiasts in the face with a lack of manual (or even a mention of when it might be available).
I was hoping for a 'heritage package' interior option that at least retained the analog gauge. We'll see what happens when they release the T again or the S models. Sort of meh that they didn't unveil them all today.

992.2 GTS appears to be a seriously competent vehicle that I would love to own someday although it does appear to be massively complex as are many other high line vehicles and could not imagine owning one without a comprehensive warranty.

The "internally driven waterpump" and the electric assist motor on the glowing orange hot turbocharger should be interesting to follow over the next couple of years.
I'm sure good engineering decisions were made within the allowed constraints and this is how Porsche rolls out their development pathway during mid-cycle refresh but yeah, this isnt something I'd be eager to own for a while. Prices are getting on up there too but that's also nothing new.
