When I say resistance, I mean it feels like you have to force it into gear when shifting fast. I tried the numeric shifter and didn’t like it in the 991.2 targa. I put in a GT3 shifter instead. The 6M doesn’t shift like you have to jam it in gear.

No more manual 7MT offering on the 992.2 GTS now confirmed. It’s 8 speed PDK only and the unpopular diddy shaver selector stays.
No doubt they’ll update the shaver on the 994.

There was a gt3t with cxx options in the showroom at my dealership and it belonged to one of the sales guys.

Lol. So glad I grabbed one of the last 7MT Targa GTS when I did. Just had mine stage 1 tuned and it’s phenomenal fun now

These cars really respond to a tune. I'm very happy with the Softronic product.

Yes they are obviously heavily detuned to sit under the turbos in the range.

It will be interesting to see if a stage 1 ECU tune will still be possible on the 992.2 hybrid GTS. I’m guessing with all that tech and electric motors it won’t be possible. If not then a tuned 992.1 will still be more powerful and have more torque than the stock 992.2, and for 7MT power fans it will remain the car to have.

Another big vote for Softronic tune, it transforms the 992.1 into a beast. My manual 992.1S is a monster and no cel or hesitation/misfire feels completely stock.

the new tach look in the digital dash is cool

so maybe with the S and base there will be a manual option.

Please go ask a modern Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren or Vette driver. Maybe they know something you don't? And by inference, a 992 with a PDK is less of a car? The Germans would laugh you out of the room.
Yet virtually every used model from those manufacturers that has a manual transmission sells for a premium over their automatic brethren.
And, yes a PDK is almost certainy faster shifting than I am. And I can hear every note played perfectly in streamed music with zero effort. But I still have my Les Paul and an Epiphone acoustic and I get ten times the satisfaction when I hit the notes myself. Sometimes working for something you treasure is better than having it handed to you.

Agree on all points... like so many here I can love Spotify while also appreciating my vinyl and tube setup. It's the sheer militancy of the vocal MT minority that's so tiresome... sure, they are fun gearboxes at times, but as a daily there's simply no contest IMHO (just like vinyl is a PITA after a few sessions). As with all technology transitions, there's always something 'lost', but usually much more gained...

Seriously? You place Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, and the Vette in the same category as the 911? Geese Louise, they are not even of the same species to me. If/when it becomes true, it will be a very sad day for Porsche. Actually, it will be the end of Porsche as far as I’m concerned.

I'm in the minority but I had a 992 Turbo S and did not like the PDK. My Ferrari's are better suited for dual clutch transmission's with the loud, dramatic and quick spooling n/a engines (458 Spider and 812 SF).

I totally agree except tubes still sound better! 😉.

If I tracked a lot, there is NO doubt I would go PDK w/o hesitation.. However, I don’t so the manual is just something I prefer on backroads, mountains, etc. I have other cars that work great as dailies although I use and choose the one i feel like driving for any particular day but I get why many feel some loss when it it comes to manuals. Hopefully Porsche offers a few options over the next releases to satisfy those who like me, still enjoy our manuals.

The good news is there are always options to pick one up slightly used if it’s a must have - just like turntables, tube gear, etc.

The AI driver was trained on user comments posted in Rennlist. The AI driver will simultaneously post comments on RL while exquisitely maneuvering through twisty back roads on behalf of the "Driver".

To accommodate the added weight of the AI driver tech, Porsche will remove the front seats, but these can be added back in as a no-cost option.

As such, the standard car will be a "0+0" configuration.

The driver can enjoy the thrill of driving a Porsche like a Formula 1 driver, from the comfort of his or her own home, via the optional $3000 VR headset, for the ultimate in safety technology. The removal of the driver allowed Porsche to add an additional 80kg in weight, while only increasing the weight of the car by 40kg.
