Sure get that, I've been driving MTs for 40 years, I could care less what ppl drive. Its just the never ending handwringing and whinging on *this* specific topic in such catastrophic / absolute terms.

Please go ask a modern Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren or Vette driver. Maybe they know something you don't? And by inference, a 992 with a PDK is less of a car? The Germans would laugh you out of the room.

To me it is, 3 pedals is mandatory for my DD. I would take a Civic Type R / GR Carola / Supra / M2 / Mustang w/ manual over a 911 with a PDK.

PDK is amazing, but I know what I like, and what kind of experience I want to have while it's still on the table.

This is probably my last 911 so I selfishly I hope Porsche does away with the stick so my manual 23 C2S will be protected to a large degree against depreciation. Plus there will be no temptation for me to buy a new 911.

My DD is also a stick, a civic si. I would also take the cars mentioned above with a stick over a 911 PDK.

I love the art of shifting.

I hope Porsche does away with the manual too. My second 992 MT is being built now.

I’ve never driven a manual 992 Carrera.
You didn't need to tell us the part in bold. It was obvious.

Dissing manuals is as childish as dissing the PDK. The main point is Porsche seem to be taking away a choice that enthisiasts have expected was part of the Porsche DNA. In fact Porsche patented the synchro that has made manuals easier to drive in 1947. It is the most common design for manual passenger cars to this day. The 1952 Porsche 356 was the first car to use a transmission with synchromesh on all forward gears. On the other hand the first production car with a dual clutch transmission (like the PDK) was the humble Hillman Minx. It was billed as “Easidrive” on the 1959-introduced Series III Hillman Minx sedan, convertible, and station wagon. There is a time and place for both types, as well as automatics. Porsche currently makes all three types. The Cayenne incorporates a traditional automatic transmission.

According to my SA after coming out of a sales meeting today, the T and GT cars will be the only manuals offered for the .2 generation

If this actually becomes a reality, I cannot say that I will be at all surprised.

According to my SA the T will be discontinued. I guess we’ll know soon.

My SA has stated the same regarding the T and suspects that the 992 T will appreciate in value over time.

According to my SA he is trying to sell whatever car he can right now and so will say literally anything about future products to close the deal, right this minute.

This is a 911 thread. Most SA’s can’t get one.

That is what my dealer contact is telling me also. The "T" is not an every-year model offering. They sprinkle in a year or two of "T" per model generation.

The model T has only been around twice. First time in the late 60s for about 6 years and now for about 6 years.
