Nah, not at all a bad thing. I'd rather have the last model year of the outgoing design rev than have the first year of a redesign... bugs and all that.

100%, I hate having the first year of a new design/update. I avoid that plus 2020/2021 cars (covid)

Well today the my.porsche site updated for my car and it moved from a July 5th completion date to AUGUST 26th with a scheduled delivery date that started off being a MAY OR JUNE DELIVERY, to now OCTOBER 26th, 2024! Wow. I don't even feel like checking the status anymore. No idea why it has been delayed by this much, but order process officially sucks for me now.

I think at this point for us the dates don’t mean anything. The car will compete when it’s done

Car has been stuck in San Diego port for 2 1/2 weeks. Thought I would have a couple hundred miles on her by now. Is this a common theme? Emissions related?

Yikes. Most people seem to be just 5-7 days. San Diego seems to be on the faster side. Seems like you might have a car specific issue.

Asked my SA the same question. "Not out of the ordinary. I wouldn't worry about it."

But I know how ports are. Moving the cars around, getting scratched, repairs before they ship it to the dealership. Now I want a thorough inspection before delivery.

Of course he said that. Surprised he even responded. A helpful SA seems to be hard to find. I’d be curious to ask him if any cars that arrived on the same date at port have been delivered to customers at his dealership. That will help answer if it’s BS.

Sorry you all are not getting the service you deserve. I feel lucky that our SA in South Carolina was able to grant us an allocation via a phone call. He turned out to be 23 years old, an avid Porsche autophile, had done track days with the Barber School, attended Daytona this year on the company dime (top sales reward) and texted me clips of the win. He informed me of the carrier vessel name and was very accurate about customs and transport to the dealership. Took pics of the prep process for us and fitted the car with clear corners at no charge and allowed us to select $100 of merch from the accessory store. 12 out of 10 in our book! He was happy to stay in contact after we drove off the lot and was intrigued with the small mods I’ve made to the car (really liked the Turbonite crest and thought it was unique to the color of the car - thanks to those here that seduced me into this small detail). Anyway, don’t mean to gloat, but it’s been one of the best purchasing experiences for us.

not to be rude but your car was never stuck in the never completed group. So not sure why your posting about your good purchasing experience

Guess I wanted to account for my SA relationship experience and how they were helpful in tracking the process. There was a point when the ship was idle for three days off the Azores, and my SA said it was just out of tracking range but would pop back up on the tracker. He also was straight-forward about the landing process and put me on guard for trucking delays on the East Coast. I think everyone should expect and maintain that level of communication. If you think the post inappropriate for the thread then I can delete it, just let me know.
