That’s what I was thinking. It’ll be interesting to see how the gauge cluster modification plays out. I, too, love the S/T cluster as well.

Not sure - I might use this for my Carrera S based GT2 as the Carrera cluster doesn't have the cool simplified displays that the GT3 / ST does. This has different software, but also not sure it talks to the other boxes nicely. It will be a good experiment. I will attempt to repair this one, but if I run into software issues, or the displays don't work, I'll just use the face . . .

Are you referring to the simplified digital displays like our ‘22-up Carreras have?

I would love that face. Have you swapped the faces before?

Yes, but the GT3s have a better presentation - my TTS also has the simplified display, but it doesn't show much info. The GT3 has TPMS display, and the necessary engine temps - also the has the shift ladder lights in PDK manual mode, which is very cool.

Ah ok! I’ll have to see what my simplified displays show. I tried them out when I first bought the car, but I never really used them.

agree, i took my entire center gauge apart to replace the color ring and you can move the entire interior to a working gauge and panel.

yeah - no question the gauge face can be swapped, but I want to retrofit the GT3 - S/T functionality / displays into the Carrera S body that will become my GT2 Clone . . . unknown at this point if the GT3 / S/T dash software will play nice with the other systems. We will find out thought!!

It would be nice to have the shift lights of the GT3 and tire temperature display from the Carrera. Still unsure why a GT car wouldn’t have tire temps but a Carrera does.

Yeah - total mystery why the GT3 doesn't have tire temperature - every other 992 I've seen has it (Carrera, TTS). . . same TPMS sensors - have to check to see if the receiver is the same. I suspect it's just a software issue.

How easy was that process?

Cause the code to do it requires an extra byte and consequently weighs an extra .01 gram.

more like "the perception of 1 byte of code" would make the user "feel" like the car is .01 gram heavier . . just like the "perception" of a heated steering wheel makes the car feel less GT3ish. The Porsche Gods have spoken, now F'ing OBEY.

It has to be in multiple locations or I missed something somewhere. I tried turning tire temps on in kombi but it didn’t show anything on the cluster. I will revisit this again tomorrow when I hook up PIWIS to switch the seat module out and write up a definitive seat memory install. Looking for code to put the command for comfort seats in PCM.

For comfort seats - you might just need to autocode your PCM after your changes to maintenance of vehicle data to reflect memory seats. When I was coding in the folding mirrors, i was looking for something similar - IE fold on lock check box in PCM. Once I got the mirrors working, I autocoded the PCM, and it magically showed up. One thing to try with the Kombi and PCM - after you code, power down for a few minutes, and power back up - I've had to power cycle a few times to get code to take when coding. . .

Weird how it works sometimes. I turned on comfort windows and it showed up in the PCM. That’s why I thought comfort seats might have another item somewhere. Sitzmem Fahrer and Tuer Fahrer is where the seat memory options are.
