I want the Seattle RS for parts - that car in beyond repair in my opinion . . but there are some very interesting parts on it that I'd love to get my hands on!
No - won't work w/ normal doors without a ton of modification - hopefully a set of RS doors will turn up soon - still got fingers crossed that Seattle RS will make it to auction!!
Just finished spraying the new clear on the carbon roll bar - it looks absolutely incredible in gloss clear vs he factory matt - certainly is better than new now! I was lucky to find 2 of these - second one being prepped for clear as we speak. I had to order the connecting hardware and rear mounts - hopefully those come in soon so I can install in my GT Silver car.
The first set of S/T fenders showed up yesterday from Europe - AMAZING how light they are!! On the body front, Porsche required me to get the old body measured by a certified shop to assure that it was beyond repair (whatever that means) - got that done last week at West Coast Specialties in San Diego - Ryan there was very helpful - great shop. Now just waiting on Porsche to confirm that they will in fact sell me a replacement - fingers crossed! I've attached measurements so you can see how they measure - pretty interesting technology . . .
I ordered up a quart of the 918 Porsche "Liquid Metal Metallic" 9S8 to test out - $400 for a quart (Spies Hecker). That doesn't include the special base coast nore clears. . . it's a 4 part paint system - base / clear / liquid metal base / clear . . . but looks stunning. I can't wait to try this out, and hopefully do the entire car in this special color . .
The S/T / RS carbon roof panel showed up today from Porsche - beautiful! No just need to decide if it's worth retrofitting these to my GT3 Touring - the XM wart really bugs me for some reason, and I also really like the profiled look of the RS panel. Changing out the roof is a TOTAL PITA though - it took a full, frustrating day to remove the existing carbon panel from the project car. special ordered with no cutout for XM antenna . . . very please with how these look!
