Aftermarket exhaust options w/o tunes

To get the most out of any exhaust, you'll definitely want the valves fully open, either thru controller or tune. Otherwise any of these exhausts still won't satisfy the sound itch. When I had PSE with valves open, it sounded damn good. I didn't need another exhaust for sound. But I got JCR titanium exhaust (very similar to Akra) later since I already was tuned on stage2 and wanted weight savings, extra hp, and an even more exotic tone.
I also have had catless downpiipes which was my first ever mod to this car along with tune. Cats only add maybe 20% more sound at most. But together with PSE valve open or aftermarket exhaust, add to the overall effect.

Be careful with the non-valved non-silenced version. It's even louder than mines which is the valved, non-silenced version. With valves open its as loud as I'd want a car to be, especially considering hearing health lol though this is my daily. And with valves open it also does drone slightly but its very acceptable. A lot of times nowadays I drive with valves closed to take the edge off a little, also no drone at all which helps when wife is riding along as well.

Agree on the subjectiveness. I'm running the JCR Non-Valved & Non-Silenced Titanium system on my GTS with no other mods (stock cats) and feel that the volume when cruising is very tolerable. At the very least, drone is impressively minimized relative to the volume and pitch that it is capable of producing when you open up the throttle.

i’m highly considering the JCR non-valved setup now! It’ll save me some me some money too!
do any of you have videos or sound clips of the JCR exhaust?

Popular combination of exhausts we do are Soul Performance 200 cel Sport cats and an Akrapovic slip on. No CEL, sounds great, weights savings, and more power!

Thanks for your feedback. I currently have Kline OAPs and rear section on my 718 Spyder and run valves opened all the time.

I’m looking to add some volume + turbo noises to my 992 GTS.
from scouring on Rennlist, people tend to suggest link pipes with 200 cell cats; however, I’m reading that tunes are mandatory. I want to avoid a tune as to not mess with the factory warranty.
which aftermarket exhaust options that do not drone will increase the volume without affecting warranty?

I took the plunge and ordered the Akrapovic exhaust. Now I’m debating whether I need the cargraphic valve controller too.
anyone have opinions on whether the Akra would benefit from the valve controller or was it perfect as is?

yes you’ll want the valve controller. It won’t sound that much louder without valves open.

I feel like i read somewhere that the stock limited valve opening from 1k-4k had something to do with the need to generate pressure for better turbo spool. So is it purely for sound control or is there a performance benefit to stock valves? Honestly, unless is a major factor...I'm opening those valves as soon as i get my car (this summer). These cars sound so good already...pretty sure more is always better 😂. Thanks for all the input and advice for us newbies!
