992 Steering Wheel Adjustment
#46
Excited to follow this news! Please let me know once it's confirmed—I'm eager to have this feature in my build as well.
@pmxams Just to confirm, which model did you build?

Either there is a bug on list of my car equipment or something changed. I have low expectations on this and expect this to be a bug. I am getting my car in a couple of weeks and can update back.

I ran my vin on Vinanalytics.com to see what populates and the detailed report shows that I do have the electric wheel adjustment. Conflicting information versus TYD so I'll confirm once I take delivery.

How funny would it be if the electronic steering adjustment is the part that's causing port delays 🤣

At some time in 2021 the chip issue caused Porsche to produce the 911 w/o electric steering as part of its memory package. They set up a subcontractor to deal with rebates for those who didn't get the promised steering. My 2022 (production date June 2022) didn't have the option. I went through the process and the sub said I wasn't on their list. I went to Porsche USA, talked to a very nice customer service lady who told me to send the appropriate documentation that I didn't get the steering as offered. I did, all Porsche info etc. After that, not a "sorry bout that" or any similar reply. Just crickets.
By comparison, my wife's BMW was supposed to have proximity unlocking of the trunk. It didn't and the window sticker had a credit for the lack thereof. Maybe other's experiences are different, but Porsche USA seems inclined to blow off their customers.

Same experience with my car built around same timeframe. Lotsa back and forth but ultimately advised to pound sand.

Oh my god, this is still happening? Did they bring the electric column back for a while and now they're cutting it again, or is this ongoing from '21? Either way, how absurd!
I got the $500 voucher and still got the electric column though. Back then, rumor had it you could keep the electric steering column by optioning the leather wrapped steering column. No clue if that's why I got the adjustable column, but I was considering the leather one already because it adds another place they apply your deviated stitching selection. Win/win, I suppose.
I'm now realizing that after the voucher, I paid $20 for the leather wrapped column. Seems like a much more reasonable price for the square foot of leather and thread I got 😂

Circling back on this...MyPorsche is now showing that I have the electric steering column after my car was built. Seems like Porsche may have quietly added the feature back but I will confirm for sure once I take delivery.
