interesting, not on mine. The seats and obviously the steering column don't move back automatically.

I didn't realize mine was missing this on my 23 C2 GTS until I came across this thread. lol.
I don't mind it. I've always preferred manual steering wheel adjustment. Maybe stronger?! Less to break?! Lighter (joking a bit).
It would be nice for it to move away a bit with the memory seat option but all good. I don't miss it.

People really have diverse opinions, don't they? Personally, I find the evolution in car features fascinating (can't wait for the 992.2 with the digital tachometer and hybrid tech), especially when comparing modern luxuries with things of the past. Take, for example, the steering wheel adjustment in top-range Turbos remaining electric—some might see this as unnecessary, but I see it as a clear improvement and indication of what's best. I mean, sure, we could argue that manual casement window cranks had their charm, but let's be honest, advancements like these are generally for the better.

There may be a checkbox somewhere in the PCM settings that you must check to activate the setting for the seat to move back. I set it up that way when I first got the car, so I don’t recall exactly where it is. I’m sure you have it if you have memory seats.

At some time in 2021 the chip issue caused Porsche to produce the 911 w/o electric steering as part of its memory package. They set up a subcontractor to deal with rebates for those who didn't get the promised steering. My 2022 (production date June 2022) didn't have the option. I went through the process and the sub said I wasn't on their list. I went to Porsche USA, talked to a very nice customer service lady who told me to send the appropriate documentation that I didn't get the steering as offered. I did, all Porsche info etc. After that, not a "sorry bout that" or any similar reply. Just crickets.

By comparison, my wife's BMW was supposed to have proximity unlocking of the trunk. It didn't and the window sticker had a credit for the lack thereof. Maybe other's experiences are different, but Porsche USA seems inclined to blow off their customers.

They're worried about making marketing material about how women are underrepresented in the music industry.

My 2020 had the memory steering wheel which came in handy as my wife drove the car on occasion. My 2024 will not. The chip problem was resolved a while back so Porsche has no excuse to not include the memory now. Pretty disappointing how Porsche treats its customers.

My car is about to arrive and I was able to add to My Porsche because I already have the VIN number. I was quite surprise to see whilst going through the options....

See the last option on the print screen... Did they start to put it back?

Excited to follow this news! Please let me know once it's confirmed—I'm eager to have this feature in my build as well.

@pmxams Just to confirm, which model did you build?

Mine says "Steering Wheel Column with Manual Adjustments" on the options list (14-way memory seats). Build date 5/1/24.

Mine supposedly started production last Friday per TYD (Although, I'm still in V250 status) and I still have the manual steering column. C2 with 14 way seats.

I am building a Carrera 4 which I was not expecting to get an electric steering column from everything that I have read over the last couple of months.

Either there is a bug on list of my car equipment or something changed. I have low expectations on this and expect this to be a bug. I am getting my car in a couple of weeks and can update back.
