I think it all depends on your adjuster. I’ve had zero issues with State Farm and OEM parts on Porsche or Audis.
I would add that, depending on your state, get the diminished value folks involved sooner if the other guys insurance denies the claim or the insurance. I found out the hard way in Texas on subrogation happens with your carrier and they are paid you lose the DV claim according to my attorney.

There is no question in my mind that I am entitled to a DV in the 20-30 K range. The issue is that I have to prove it and fight for it. Which can only happen if the car is fixed. I need good faith with the insurance carrier for now to get what the certified collision center requests regarding repairs. This will be a fight on its own. It’s such a shame that I have to go through this m, especially that I had the car for only 6 weeks before this happened and I had no fault in this and all. It’s consuming a lot of my time and energy in addition to how devastated I am with what happened.
People talking about insurance carriers and how bad they are. This is out of my control. There’s no point talking about this insurance carrier or that. It just needs to be fixed. In a country of laws I am entitled to the full compensation for my loss and for the best effort to be put to restore the car to its original condition. And even if it get perfectly back, its an accident on the car fax that will immediately diminish its value regardless of what type of repair is done.
This forum has been tremendous help to me. Despite the anxiety provoked by some people’s comments like totaling the car or dealing with sucky insurance carriers.
I just need my car back. I enjoyed it so much when I had it

The comments about the car getting totaled are not helpful. This is out of my hand and these comments don’t add anything to the conversation. Have you looked at the pictures? Most of the external damage is on the bumper and the exhaust. For sure there is internal damage, the muffler and exhaust are damaged, the support beam that protects the engine is probably bent, it may need an engine out repair. But all of this will be done by Porsche certified technicians with OEM parts. So I’m still hopeful.
For the damage to trigger a total loss it has to exceed 100K (70% of car value) in repairs that it would be more cost effective for the insurance company to auction the car to recoup the cost and pay me out. This is highly unlikely to happen.
I posted seeking advice and I’ve gotten plenty of good advice. If you have good advice please share it if not please keep it to yourself, it’s not helpful.
Thank you

@Sa3eedi Your comments are spot on. Such a range of feedback on these forums from helpful to ridiculous.
I recently went through accident and claims on my brand new Macan GTS with just 3300 miles. I know first hand the range of emotions, stress, and difficulty working through this process.
Advice from my experience. It will take longer than you expect to get through the process and repair. Insurance adjuster responsiveness, availability of parts, will play into this time. My insurance is AAA and I’m in CA. Took almost 4 weeks just to get through the initial response, estimate, and conclusion to move through repair or total loss. My rental coverage was only for 30 days, and I ended up having to cover the difference out of pocket.
I agree the damage doesn’t look significant, but they will likely have to do a partial teardown to fully asses. If it’s bumper, inner structure, muffler type repairs, I think it should be good availability of parts and a quick repair.
Good luck with the repair journey, and hope you are back on the road sooner than later.

That car is totaled. Keep the fight simple and focused, on totaling it. It’s beyond what the bumper is rated for and thus no doubt frame is damaged along with many other mechanical parts. Even if you get it repaired, you’ll have to accept the fact that it may not be 100% back to previous, especially the paint that you can see everyday.
If you can’t total it after many attempts, then hire a lawyer and have them send the insurance a note for the DV.

I was told exactly that as I initiated the process with the other parties insurance company, here in California, where DV claims are allowed and where I was ultimately successful. The agent told me she had never heard of DV. After speaking with my DV lawyer she suddenly not only had heard of it but was quite familiar with the process.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Slightly longer post but hopefully useful to you.
For my experience, I had an uber driver hit my 991 Cab and run in Miami. I got the cops involved and they cited him for the damage and leaving the scene so liability was never a concern. Cops handed me a slip at the time with a random insurance company name that turned out it didn't exist.
I had Hagerty (side note: not worth the premium), called them thinking they would handle all this for me and was told tough luck, it would just have to paid out of my policy. Thankfully throughout all this over and back the car was still drivable. Luckily a friend mentioned Uber would have been insuring the other driver at the time as he had a fare. So I filled out a form on their website and the wheels started moving very quickly.
Progressive called, asked where I wanted the car to go, arranged a similar vehicle (mustang convertible ) and the damage side was quickly covered within about 2 weeks total. In the initial call they asked if I had any injuries, I said no as was the case and I have no interest in insurance fraud but my suggestion would be for you to say that you will know once you see your doctor so as not to limit your options later if you do get neck pain etc.
On diminished value, it was a whole other story. I felt progressive was deliberately being evasive as my case was transferred to a new department where the claims handler took months to reply to me. In the end, I asked my dealer to right up a valuation letter, paid $300 for an independent appraisal, got some comps from the internet and filled out a small claims court case. My request was for $7500 and costs. Progressive didn't show up to court and annoying the judge rescheduled it to another day, so I emailed the claims handler to say they had missed their court date. The next day someone from their legal department called and settled with me on the spot for $6000 no costs included.
