Default Ejected pressure washer nozzle at my car

Is there a thread for stupid, random questions? Because this one sure belongs there.

I bought a pressure washer from OG and used it to wash my car for the first time yesterday.

All was going well until halfway through the wash. After I foamed the car, I went to reattach the nozzle. I'm still not sure exactly what happened, but it seems like I didn't properly secure the nozzle to the quick release disconnect. So when I turned the pressure washer on, with the wand facing my car, it forcibly ejected the nozzle with high pressure straight into my car.

Didn't realize what happened for a second, but after I did, ran to my car to take a look. Thankfully, seems like no major damage—which I'm quite surprised by, honestly. I did see a very small, but quite deep nick on the side door.

It's so small that I ordinarily wouldn't mind it, but want to ask since it seems like it may have gotten through to the metal (since it gives off a metallic glint)—is there anything I need to do to keep this from corroding or getting worse?

Pic of the nick

Pic right before the nick

I'd be more concerned with what the pressure washer did to your mirrors.

Hello! Where are you based? This is my first 911. I'm deciding whether to get winter wheels / tires or just leave the car garaged for the winter. Any advice?

There is a thread here discussing winter tires. You may be interested in that, should you decide to not garage your car for the winter…

Yeah I nearly made that mistake once. Narrowly missed the car I was washing...only takes once!

Going forward, every time I change or swap out the tip/soap, I aim the gun towards the ground, squeeze, and make sure nothing is flying off

Always get in the habit of pointing the pressure washer at the ground first before spraying towards the car when switching accessories and nozzles. Every once in awhile they don’t seat right. Always fun watching your expensive foam cannon shoot across the driveway lol.

I would order Dr. Colorchip and touch it up. You'll barely see it and it will protect that area.

fellow front ranger here.

i have the 19/20 winter tire set and drive year round. don't follow close and be careful on non-divided roads. perfect example is 93 from boulder to golden. you're going to get pelted with rocks on that stretch.

I know. I was really shocked. With the force the nozzle was ejected, I thought it would've dented the car somewhere.

A 911 is not a fragile thing. 👍

I am in Denver and work out in Golden not far from 93. I have a set of Michelin Alpin PA5s for my OEM wheel set and swap them out 2x a year. On a C2S.
