Would you buy a hybrid 911 (992.2)

BMW i8 had a spyder variant. Ferrari has a few hybrid convertibles currently on offer. I suspect the Audi news is more related to how their cabrios are selling rather than packaging concerns.

I doubt it...the 911 has different powertrain packaging being rear engine and the convertible top sitting on top of the engine area and not a trunk. Like the E-Ray...the batteries are going up front somewhere.

All you really need in pure EV mode from a sports car is enough range to get it out of your neighborhood to the nearest major road. 11/15 miles is plenty. How many people are taking a car like this on short errands near their home? Almost everyone in this buying segment has another "normal" car.

You really think that. Porsche owners are known for actually driving their cars and not just using them as museum pieces. I take my Porsche to the grocery store, golf course, local restaurants, etc. all the time. The only time I drive my other "normal car" is when the weather is bad or the snow is deep.

I'd want enough electric juice to fill in the low rev torque for blistering acceleration when i need it. Someone has done the calculations as to how much that might be and it looks like it likely equates to 10-20 miles of range
Why do i need to run errands without starting the engine ? Useless as far as im concerned

What's not normal about it?

Don't have an SUV and I have never seen a Costco. I have a 911 daily driver and an F-250 Diesel Tremor for pulling my Airstream.

Porsche can't even keep the current 911 under 3200lbs. it'll be bloated like the new c63s hybrid from MB.

I think there are reasons to be hopeful. Magnesium Thixomolding and the long promised next gen batteries keep me optimistic. I also expect the ever improving A.I. tools to help the engineers shave weight while increasing performance.

Another call to seriously look for my 71Cuda... So no, I would not, nor do I think I'll get another P.
