Default Rear License Plate Mounting

What is everyone using to mount their rear license plate? I was going to swap out my temp tags for metal plates and was surprised to see there's no bracket to lift the plate off the bumper.

I'm thinking about glueing rubber washers on the back of the license plate but I'm curious if anyone has a better solution.

I’m not using metal plate frames, but you could stick a rubber faucet washer on the backside and thread your screw in.

********.com store has a rear mount that gets the plate spaced off the bumper. Edit: Rennlist is blocking the name, lol. Competitor.

The plate is held on by predrilled holes and the holes are covered by the plate and the plate is required by all States. Add a decorative frame if you like and you are good to go. Who cares if there is a slight rubbing under the plate. I don't understand the issue.

I’m sorry you’re incapable of understanding but based on the unsolicited and self evident information included in your reply, I’m not totally surprised.

Obviously I am missing something in your post-instead of being surly why not explain what I am missing.

I don't want my metal license plate mounted directly to the painted bumper as it will scratch the paint and probably remove it from the contact points altogether over time. This is why most manufacturers have a license plate bracket that allows the plate to be mounted in a way that is lifted off the bumper.

Telling me that license plates are required in all states and that the plates are mounted with holes is far from helpful.

I use these cheap felt stick on furniture pads on the back of my plates to avoid scratches if that is what you are after

I just grabbed some rubber grommets from Lowes.

I think I will either JB weld these to the back of the license plate and mount directly or try one of the silicon plate frames from Amazon first.

Talk about helpful?!-your question would of been much clearer regarding scratching the painted bumper if you had indicated you had the sport package where the license plate is over paint. I do not have the sport package and my plate is over black plastic.
