Default evo Car of the Year (2023)

Carrera T takes 7th place.

Now the T owners will be even more insufferable.

You'll have to read the print issue to get the full details ...

Wasn't this last year's issue? I remember the MC20 winning this competition with the GT4RS coming in second.

Yeah this appears to be an older issue

that aside and not to get off topic one of things I dislike about these head to heads is they only look at very select criteria - and rarely the true ownership experience of the car or brand

they were fun to read when I was a kid and got me into cars - now that I’m old enough to actually buy the cars there is way more that goes into it than someone driving a press model for a few days or a week

for that reason much of the head to head stuff becomes less meaningful to me and I’ve taken to YouTube videos from actual owners as they give a bit more insight

The MC20 was the biggest flop so how reliable is this magazine?

It's also worth noting that EVO is pretty clear that they are basing their ratings on driving experience only, without consideration to things like reliability, practicality, value retention, ultimate performance, or commercial appeal. Within that narrow criteria they've proven to pick winners. Just don't go to them if you're looking for an opinion on anything other than how enjoyable a car is to drive.

What I miss about the old car journalists when I was a kid is that these guys were great writers who were able to describe the car and driving experience with such detail that it almost felt like you were driving it yourself. That level of journalism went away a long time ago. Talking about 0-60 3.x seconds and automatic shifts in xx milliseconds killed it.

Oh man, the T came in below a Honda civic. There goes all the claims that it’s the best Carrera. GTS would have done better

296 GTB is probably my favorite on that list.

Never driven one, but it's probably the only modern Ferrari that I would love to own if only because it looks so good.

Let's just meet in the middle and agree that the S with the right options is indeed the best one.
