2 of the 7 judges, 1 in particular, gave the T low marks and pulled down it's ranking by only a few points. Have they voted like the other 5, the T would've come in at 5th place, where it makes more sense for it to belong.

I agree. Had the judges gave it a higher score, its score would definitely be higher.

Of course, the counter-biased view is that if the other 5 had voted like those 2 - or that one in particular, the T would have come in last. Maybe that is why they have 7 judges? Confirmation bias is strong on this site.

I don't think you know what confirmation bias means.

Maybe we can combine this thread with the psychology of the MT crowd.

Has anyone actually driven the Civic Type R?
It's actually supposed to be really good. Wouldn't shock me if it's subjectively more fun to drive than the T, particularly on the British B roads that evo uses (and that's not a slam on the T)

I haven't driven one and given the accolades, I'm sure it's an impressive car. But to suggest that a 4 door, 4cyl engined car that. weighs about the same and has about 80hp less than ANY 911, is just silly.

No doubt. Of course they've awarded COTY to low powered cars over big time supercars in the past. They really value performance on crappy single lane back country British roads. A big wide, fast high grip car doesn't always work as well in that environment. The power deficit isn't a disqualifier, but the thing that bugs me is that the Civic is a four door - if it was a tiny wheel base hot hatch, that would make more sense.

A friend of mine got out of his e92 m3 and into the new ctr a few months before I took delivery of my T. I haven't gotten to drive it yet but based on his praises and others I don't feel too shocked to see it score above the T. I love my T but in the end it is a 992 Carrera variant, nothing majorly unique it brought to the table this year. Nice to see it get included and receive some praise at least and not just ignored and overshadowed by the GT3RS.
