Default Dash cam problem

Recently installed Porsche dash cam on my 993 gts front and rear. When I got the car back I kept getting the WBA restricted warning on my dash. I had the front dash cam mounted on the right of the rear view mirror. It also appears slight lower than the ones I see on others picture. I am thinking I made a mistake on having it on the right side. I think the windshield sensor is getting thrown off and giving me the WBA warning. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I mounted my dash cam on the left side and up as high as I could and I got the same warning after I installed the camera. Not sure what the reason is but would also appreciate any ideas.

Did your warning light go away? Mine stays on all the time.

Thanks. Removed just the camera or the camera and the wiring to the camera?

Thanks Vivienne. Evidently the car's camera behind the rear view mirror is wide angle enough to see the dash cam or a part thereof. I will remove mine tomorrow and reply then. Take care.

Removed camera and mount but it made no difference. I think that the wiring for the camera inside the upper console is tucked up near the camera and I will take it apart tomorrow and rearrange the wiring or remove it temporarily. Hopefully that will cure the error.

It must be. Just make sure all your sensors are free from debris. If that doesn’t work, then I guess you should take to your dealer and have them recalibrate the rain sensor. My dash cam was too low, and on the right side. I will relocate it to where you have yours. Let me know how it goes. Did you have any problems removing the upper trim to get to the wires?

Here’s mine - no problems. I have dash cam prewiring.

No problem once I located the hidden screw located under the blavk plastic grate on the right underside of the upper console.

Screw on the passenger side of the upper console.

Simply rearranged the wiring in the upper console, drove about a mile and the error went away. Very strange. Hopefully that (whatever it was) will keep the error from returning.

This is a well known issue with Novatek chipsets. Doesn't anyone read my posts?

Did your warning light go away? It stays on all the time, I don't about that fix.
