Default Need Help Negotiating

I have an opportunity on a 992 911T coming in to my local dealer on a general allocation. I live in a smaller population area and I wont’t give the town to avoid someone jumping in ahead of me.

Anyway, the dealer will sell it to me at MSRP because I’m local. The car arrives in a few months. They do have dealer options of maintenance for an additional year and a clear bra. The total for two items is about 4k.

What leverage do I have? Don’t want to lose this, but I have purchased a Cayaenne S and about 8 different BMW models in the past 15 years, and Have never paid anything close to sticker. Should I open with waiving the bra and maintenance plus oe would I be overplaying it to also ask for a 1-2% discount? I am a loyal buyer and will likely buy several more Porsche from them if they treat me well.

please advise.

If they are selling you the car at MSRP, you've already won. Getting a discount will be virtually impossible in today's 911 climate.

Zero leverage. Waive the BS they are offering you. Dealer has no loyalty to you, give them none.

Ask for small items and easy wins. Rubber floor mats, Clear Side Markers, aluminum gas cap.

So should i aspire to getting this at MSRP with the add ons waived, or am I going to have to eat the cost of the Bra and year two maintenance?

Are they requiring you to get the bra and two-year maintenance? I would strongly object to that. Say that you have your own PPF guy that you are using and you dont want anyone else touching your car. 2nd year maintenance is not so bad as long as they aren't over charging you.

MSRP is a win in today's market.

They are telling me that’s part of the deal. They are also telling me no ADM because I am local. This is just a soft way to charge ADM. I should add the 911T is an automatic, but some enthusiasts would find unusual on a driver’s model. This is not a vanilla S or base…

Lol, I guess I could just tell them to give me the deal at Sticker and its up to them if they include the extras, but that’s what I will pay. If there are that many potential buyers, then I may lose the car, but I would be fine buying something used until the Porsche market dies down, hopefully in a couple years. They would risk losing a potential long time customer.

It's not really an MSRP offer. My guess is if you decline both, you have no deal. The maintenance plan (which type is is it?) and PPF are their form of an ADM as they will profit huge on both. The PPF is likely just a front bumper or nose and I would question of the quality of install. That said, even a $4k cash ADM on a T would be great in my area, so would give gladly them the $4k and consider anything they give back gifts.

EDIT: Just saw your next post re automatic. Thats would be a hard pass for me on a T, but its personal choice. It is likely why they are not charging a higher hidden ADM.

Unless you are looking for a PDK, wait for a manual. There will be more. Get on the list and spec one to your order. My dealer said that he has plenty of T allocations coming next month so wait for the right car.

I'd have no problem paying for second year service, assuming they aren't charging $5k for it.

I wouldn't take the clear bra-who wants an ugly line across their hood. But if you have to pay for 2nd yr maintenance, and something else so be it. But it doesn't hurt to make a counter offer with items you might want. Buy it, drive it, enjoy it, and have some leverage when you decide to trade. I would not let a couple of thousand dollars stand in the way of a 130K purchase.

personally, I would not want either but knowing how Porsche is right now they may say fine if you don't want it we'll give it to the next person. if you're willing to wait for this market to die out (It might take years) wait it out but if you really want the car tell them you'll take the maintenance package but not the PPF

Getting a 911 in the past couple of years has been tough. Many have paid high ADMs and many have waited up to two years to get a car. $4k ADM is on the very cheap side and you're being offered something in exchange to boot. Keep trying to save a few pennies and you're going to lose the car.

Are you in the US? If so, MSRP is the best anyone can do at the moment. But they are charging you ADM by making you get the clear bra and 2nd year maintenance. What are they charging you? If they're charging $1k for each I would take that deal in a heartbeat.

I'm surprised Zinedine Zidane would worry about such trivial costs.

But if he does, I would say take the allocation and run.
