agreed. Not sure why others are giving me a hard time. I have the best build for me to drive fast and resale for full value whenever that time comes. Love being Porsche owner

Just note that some of your added options are probably not gonna make the resale value really "higher" - e.g. the leather owners manual, backrest shells in leather or the floor mats.

Anyway, I hope you get your car and then enjoy it in good health!

That means you do not have an allocation. You have a promise for an allocation if they get one. They are just holding your money, and a lot of it. I only had to put $5k down and got an actual commission number from the dealer.

After paying close to $200K for a car, I don't expect any kind of issues. Creaking, batteries dying, glass getting cloudy, random error messages on dash, etc. - these are just some of the reported issues. Are these widespread issues? Do I need to be worried? Should I cancel my order???

Thanks

What you don’t get on forums is how many owners experience a particular issue? That’s an unknown. But there are a few issues that have been reported by more than a handful of owners - rattles and batteries dying. That makes me believe they are real issues, but still don’t know the frequency of those issues.

If you are expecting a car with zero issues, then perhaps you need to re-think your choice, as the Porsche is a complicated car? That said, I’ve had rattles, but still love the car and think, overall, the car is still very reliable.

Two more comments:

- I think there is a sizable % of Porsche buyers that are over extending their buying comfort zone…and probably should buy something less expensive. If paying $200K keeps you up at night, then maybe you are one of those people?

- If you buy and have regrets down the road, there’s a lot of prospective buyers that would be willing to buy your car. The re-sale market for the 992 is very strong.

Hard to believe that's all the dealer required...I was thinking 50%....the dealer will have a hard time moving this at that MSRP if you for whatever reason back out

If this is the car you want then enjoy it to its fullest. If you are worried about resale value down the road I will say that the secondary market for "loaded" T's in the 991.2 version has shown that non-performance-oriented options do not help and can actually reduce resale value. To these eyes, I see a car with higher than normal depreciation relative to other 992 Carrera T's.

As to your question on build quality, I will say that every generation of 911 has had and likely will have issues over time. As others have said, internet forums trumpet the failures loudly and regularly scare people with problems that only effect a small sample of buyers.

EDIT/addition: I could see how a "loaded" T could retain it's value better than the car you've built:
-add buckets (therefore deleting the back seats at the same time)
-manual transmission (I think this is a key factor in the T)
-no sunroof
-FAL is one of those options you either need or you don't. It can be a positive or negative depending on the buyer.

I would ask for the commission number. If you have an actual order, you should be able to log in to your Porsche account with the email you provided. From there you should see your future car on your profile and use Track My Dream to track the status of the car. The dealer may be expecting an allocation based on historical allocations they’ve received but based on what you’ve posted and having owned seven Porsches, you don’t have a fully executed/accepted order.

No wonder they were all “laughing and having a good time”……

Maybe bank the $200K and spend some if it on grammar lessons. It will help mask the fact that you a 13 year old with a computer.

your demand order is confirmed but “arriving soon”… my experience was a demand order placed in early Dec 2021, my SA calling me the end of the month saying he had an allocation and did I want to move forward. A $5k deposit got me a confirmed order with a commission number. Estimated build date was May 2022; I took delivery Aug 2022. So if your dealer is telling you that it will be a short period of time before your new car arrives… well that seems inconsistent with most others experience here.
