I did move on to another dealer on the west coast of florida now. I am on line for a 992 S now and have agreed to their financing, their maintenance extra with tire and dent and windshield and exterior and interior coating for approximately 6 thousand over all of which was acceptable to me. We finalized the deal and I left a deposit. Now they want to include a set of luggage or a watch neither of which I need or want. When does this end.

It probably ends with a CPO unit or a longer wait. Took me close to 3 years and that’s with a great 991.2 trade. I feel your frustration and really get it. You will get yours eventually and it will be worth all of it!

When will Porsche sell cars directly and heck with middle men. Sooner or later, this has to happen.

  1. There are states where that simply is not legal.
  2. When you buy direct from the automaker, there is no one to be your advocate.
  3. Working with a local dealer allows you to build a relationship with people that give a crap about you as a client/customer.

Tesla is both an example as to how this can work and at the same time, shows why it’s such a terrible idea. Heck, the so called “Foundation Series” nonsense is Cybertruck ADM.

I know that PCNA here in CA has been cracking down on dealer's selling GT cars to people that are out of the area.
Didn't know this also applied to non-GT cars.

These dealers will not sell you a car, but the service & parts managers will welcome you with open arms :-)

The sales and management department is a reflection of service department as well. I won't forget that.

Good lord...I really don't think I could agree to all that as far as add ons to the deal. I am buyin a car and the rest should be my choice...not some form of blackmail disguised otherwise. ADM and proift all the same for the dealer at buyer's expense.

Funny but kinda true unfortunately in many occasions.... Some WILL sell out of their area tho....found 5 when shopping for my Cayenne S e hybrid allocation but man it took a few days fo work and email configuration inquiries to almost half the dealers within 500+ miles from me.

Yes I have a friendship with many of my SAs at former dealers and my current one. Relationships do matter...sometimes but also adapting to the market which has changed since 2020 I agree. Am very very glad I purchased my 2021 992 Carrera S in July 2020 as I saw the market changing and not for the better.

Congrats...soon you'll be whole again or at least enjoying a 911. The S is a great car as well!

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your experience. It helps other buyers put everything in perspective but hopefully will not be the normal for much longer
