Default Dealer won't sell me a 992 gts

Hello everyone, I'm asking if anyone has been denied or if you think this is a correct requirement for a purchase of a new 992 gts. I configured a new gts and contacted a local dealer to start the process, they asked me for my zip code and informed me I am out of their area and can't help me. Before you answer I am 26.9 miles from the dealership. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Joe C.

This doesn't seem to be extremely uncommon, especially if there is a closer dealership to you. I will say 30 miles away doesn't seem to be that far away but I guess it is really down to the area, 30 miles in Houston is nothing. I would call again and see if you can reach a different sales person and try again.

I did go to a closer dealership that advised me that some people pay large sums of money over msrp and we able to bump people off of the waiting list ( hint hint) . That doesn't work for me.

Sounds like the Dealer, obviously, just does not want to sell you a car.

They are certainly encouraged to sell in-State but they are giving you a line of BS

^^^ and protecting their competitors' right to charge ADM's by refusing to sell to you bc of there being a closer Porsche dealer. Lousy practice.

Such is the current climate. If you pay their ADM, they will put you on the list. If you stand frim at MSRP on a new GTS, be prepared to wait 4 or 5 years until supply catches up with demand. If you are standing on principal, well - I agree with you, but that doesn't stop Market conditions. If its a budget thing, then pick up a nice pre-owned one. There are plenty of people here on Rennlist that have a GTS with a slot for a GT3 or Turbo S on order, when they car comes in they will sell their GTS - but again at Market price. Same thing is happening with a BMW M3 or M4, or any new Ferrari. I don't think you are going to find a dealer who will sell to you are sticker on a configured car to your build specs. That's been the market on 911's since December of 2020, and not like to change much in the next couple of years.

Actually the second dealer said they couldn't sell me a gts at any price because I was out of their area (zip code). That's why I started this thread.

Champion Porsche has been #1 in US sales for many, many years. They don't "need" to sell you a car. They have plenty of return customers to sell to (at MSRP), as well as new customers willing to pay absurds amounts of ADM to get the car they want. As many here have stated, such are the market dynamics at the moment. This isn't an issue with them alone.
Try your luck at a smaller dealership, or buy pre-owned (again, at market prices).

^ Tell them you'll pay $100k over MRSP, and are ready to pay a deposit today. I'm sure that would change their mind

That’s true at all. Dealers sell out of network all the time when the ADM is fat enough.

Porsche North Olmsted sells out of state quite often. When you offer $150k over on a 3RS, they’ll take the ding from PCNA because the juice is worth the squeeze.
