I did the Carmel Valley Rd a few weeks back in my 992; it’s very tight and the surface is pretty uneven. Great views and scenery but not sure it’s really worth the trouble, TBH.

I’m leaving LA Thursday afternoon.
Friday night driving to see Jai Paul In sf. But be interested in a Friday day meet up. Or Saturday night.

RR7 is quickly approaching. It'd be great to start nailing down two things: 1) the drive up to Laguna from SD/LA and 2) an RL meet in Monterrey.
1. Rally to RR7
I plan to leave Del Mar the morning of the 27th. My ideal route is I5 to Santa Monica then PCH to just north of Morro Bay where the last exit before road closure is located, then take secondary roads from there all the way to Laguna. We can have two departure points/times on the 27th: one in SD at 9am and one in Santa Monica Peer at noon. If anyone who knows the area between Morro Bay and Monterrey and can confirm this is a good idea, please do. See maps below of my proposed route. We can always jump on the 101, but that would be rather boring. Let's have a show of hands from those interested.
2. RL Meet in Monterrey
@996AE suggested Thursday after track closing at ALVARADO Street Brewery (426 Alvarado Street, 831.655.2337). Let's have a show of hands from those interested.

We will be there Wednesday thru Monday, my son is home on leave so we will be headed down in a Hummer EV and leaving the Pcars at home, learned the last few times corral parking is not all its cracked up to be...
Will be staying in Pacific Grove.

Tell me more about the corral passes. I have little understanding of what I bought.

Almost all corral parking is dust bowl parking, with thousands of cars parking on dry dirt throughout the day my cars were caked in dust/dirt at the end of the day. There is one paved area that might be GT corral parking this time (not sure) and that is where you would on-ramp the track for parade laps.
The parking volunteers do have the guidance to parking areas down to a science.
I went with two preferred parking passes this time, easy walk to the paddock.

Copy of the event map attached, FYI. It looks like Corral 5, the 992 area, is on what is marked on Google Maps (here) as the "Old Track Area' which in my limited experience is used for bike training etc. and is sealed. At least that's where the ticket @Wilder bought from me is located.
Hope this helps.
