Almost all corral parking is dust bowl parking, with thousands of cars parking on dry dirt throughout the day my cars were caked in dust/dirt at the end of the day. There is one paved area that might be GT corral parking this time (not sure) and that is where you would on-ramp the track for parade laps.
The parking volunteers do have the guidance to parking areas down to a science.
I went with two preferred parking passes this time, easy walk to the paddock.
Thank you for that. I'm camping there too so I expect an inch of dust to be covering the car by the time it's all over, lol.

Hope this helps.
Thank you. My campsite is in turns 9/10/11 area, on the other side of the old track area. Should be fun getting there every morning.
Hey Wilder and fellow RL'rs attending RR next week. My other half and I are heading down Saturday for the day. Looks like most of your meetups are happening Thurs and Friday so I'll miss those unfortunately. If you guys end up gathering somewhere at Laguna Saturday, would be great to meet some of you in person.
Upon arrival, we'll likely hang out above turn 2 (Andretti Hairpin) for a bit then hit a few spots on our way up to settling in at the Corkscrew. I'll be lugging around some folding chairs.
very sorry to say that i won’t get off work until much later on Wednesday so won’t be able to meet at santa monica pier. I’ll be driving up from san bernadino that evening. Meet up in Monterey if it’s not too late!
Missed this earlier. Sorry to hear but we'll definitely catch up in Monterrey.

Absolutely. Ping me here. I'll be checking in from time to time.
So the carrier that was going to take my car to the border let me down. They were supposed to pick up the car yesterday and be on its way to the boarder today. Didn't happen so at around 2pm I decided to leave. My car was an hour flight from me so I took the last flight, picked up my car at the shop and drove the first stretch. Just got to my hotel. Tomorrow I drive 1k miles to my parents house in Tucson, then LA, then Monterrey. Fun times!

I start driving to Monteray at 6:00 a.m. (I hope) sometime around then. MST, so maybe I'll see you on the road, from Albuquerque NM, my first-day destination is 14 hours away
I assume there is some general parking in the area without these passes, yes?
I’ve never been, so asking in case someone knows.
Yes, plenty of available parking without a corral pass. Only issue is, the condition of the area Laguna staff direct you to can vary. Sometimes, you end up having to drive through a hillside field that can be pretty rutted out. Then there's the dust. Hopefully, you'll be able to find a fairly flat spot but just wanted you to be aware.

ok. Thanks. Dust is fine. Driving on unpaved ground is fine. As long as it isn’t so bad it bottoms out somewhere, I don’t care.
