Default PDCC in 992 Gts

Hi all,

I'm a new member of rennlist, I own a Panamera 971 Turbo and a brand new Macan T. I'm going to order a 992 GTS, and I'd like to know your impressions about the PDCC system, is it really a must, or do you think is not necessary for a normal use, I'm not going to go to track more than one or two times at year.

Thank you so much

PDCC augments the flexibility between comfort and performance handling. PDCC will improve ride comfort by softening the roll stiffness when driving in a straight line while maintaining a flat cornering stance when needed. However, some pro drivers reported a more disconnected feel when driving at the limit. If it is for a car mainly driven on the road, it is a great option to have.

For me, I see it as a low ROI option. I'd put the money elsewhere in your build unless money is no object. Also, it is one other expensive thing that could go wrong that (in most cases) you won't really feel a major difference from.

I was told early on here somewhere, that PDCC was really unnecessary until you build a top-heavy 911 like a Targa.

I have PDCC/RWS combo on mine and the handling is just nuts, massive upgrade over my 991.1 GTS. You can really feel it in every corner. Worth it IMO.

I ordered my GTS Cab with PDCC. This is my first Porsche so I dont have any frame of reference. My SA told me when I was building it that on GTS - it makes the ride vastly more comfortable. I am never going to track it, and its a weekend car for the mrs and I.

BUT ... and here is the but

Because of PDCC all my dates pushed out

GTS CAB, MY24
Original --> New
7/14 --> 10/23 (freeze)
9/4 --> 11/7 (build start)
11/4 --> 1/12/24 (delivery)
Same commission number.
Allocation was V200, then when I finalized the build at dealsership last weekend - went to V100. I was told due to PDCC not being available. Was promised 10/27 delivery if I dropped PDCC option which I didnt. Was told that PDCC was short supply and they were prioritizing Turbos.
The SA then got to work with production planning manager (Atlanta) and factory (Stuttgart) and 4 days later, PDCC was accepted, with new dates (2 month delay).
I was told that I was the first GTS with PDCC. I dont know if that first GTS CAB or first GTS for MY24. I find it extremely unlikely that no one ordered PDCC on GTS before.

Not sure if that is accurate, just relaying here what I was told.

I had a 991.2 CS2 w/RAS and now my 992 GTS w/RAS and the 992 GTS handles noticeably better than my prior car. What I'm thinking is much of the improvement is in the car more so than the RAS or PDCC.

Edit: worth noting my CS2 had a glass moonroof while my GTS is a slick-top.

What MY for your 992 GTS? Trying to see if what I was told by SA about PDCC on GTS being a very rare option is accurate (my build pushed out by 2 months due to lack of PDCC availability in the factory, I was told)

Might want to ask your SA if PDCC is even available currently to order for the GTS. For reference PDCC was not available for ordering when I put my GTS order in Feb 23.

RAS+PDCC on my GTS Cab. I love how it handles and wouldn't change a thing. Whats a few K on a 150k+ car.

Just looked at configurator: if you order PDCC, you have to order RAS as well.

Mine is same...23 with RAS but PDCC was not available. Mine is a Targa GTS, so not sure if that makes a difference in availability of the PDCC.

I've driven 992s with and without PDCC on street and track, and while I'm no 'racer' I've had plenty of track 'seat time' (Skip Barber open wheel license (expired) and lots of DE days over 35 years) and not sure I could tell *any* difference, and certainly never left the course going 'I really miss PDCC'. For 'one or two' times a year at the you'll never miss it IMHO. Drive and enjoy.

ps. my 992 C2S has RAS but no PDCC.
