Sorry if this exists elsewhere. I searched and the posts I found all have to do with the bolster covers on the LWB seats. I have sport seat plus, and find them very comfortable. However, when I get in and out of the car I do roll over the side bolster and I am worried it will wear or crease the leather over time. One solution is to slide the seat all the way back, which gives you more room to enter and exit the car. But I am wondering if there is a bolster cover for the sport-seat plus. I have seen them for the LWB seats, and they seem to look very nice. Anything similar for Sport Seat Plus? Thank you.

There really isn't anything for the Sport+ seat bolsters (outside of putting on a full car cover) - which would not really help (even if there were bolster covers like on the LWB). On my GT3T with LWB I have the bolster covers, but that part it covers is much more ridged than the Sports+ seats, as it does protect due to the rigidity factor on those LWBs... (I have the Sport+ seats on my 992 (and my previous gen as well). You will get some wrinkles in that part of the bolster for sure, after about 1 year with my 992 targa (and the same on my 992 coupe before that) you will start to see the creases forming. I look at this as more leather patina, so it doesn't bother me much..

Afraid not much you can do, outside of understanding it builds character on the leather, and you can use it like finger prints if you ever need to identify your car if it is stolen :-)

The side bolsters on my Bordeaux Red leather interior is starting to show damage after just a bit over 6 months of ownership. Not just creases, but real peeling. I’ve seen it in other fairly new CPO 992s at the delearship, specifically with the Bordeaux Red leather interior.

Therefore, reviving this tread in hopes that someone with a solution might see it and offer some help.

Although you may have searched this has been discussed here in much detail. Best thing to do is learn the best method for entry/exit which is butt in first and out last. If you put a foot in first, you are going to put undue pressure on the bolster. YMMV depending on your individual "stature" and the fabrics you wear when driving. I had an 8 year old Cayman with full leather sports seats that had only very light creasing on the bolster when I sold it.

Make sure 'comfort access' is enabled in PCM to retract the seat which allows better ingress/egress and avoid scraping the boltser. I also carry a bottle of Lexol Leather Conditioner and apply it liberally on the outside bolster seam / welting to keep it supple, etc. After 13K my Bordeaux Red 18 ways still look great, but I also take pains to never slide 'across' the seam just for the reason mentioned. An ounce of prevention....

I'm aware of it not to lean on the bolster when I get in and out. I also find memory 2 and all the way back helps entering and exiting. I think the best you can do is just be conscious of it.

I used comfort access until I realized my seat back was hitting the seat belt buckle and denting the seat leather. Turned that off and use the steering wheel to lift me out of the seat. Not quite as limber as I used to be. 😊

Seems like an opportunity for someone to invent some and sell them. Maybe Ed at EdGuard could do them for you all. I liked his bolsters when I had the GT4.

It’s just starting, but I certainly don’t want it to get any worse. It’s pretty bad for my OCD already. I’ve replaced things for less than this. A 911… not so easy to replace. Much less this soon. I’m planning on keeping this 911 at least 10 years. This is just after 6 months of ownership. Don’t like the trend at all. I’ve started entering and exiting the car without touching the bolster since I saw this damage (as described further above). Nevertheless, it won’t be as easy to keep my copilots from causing damage to the passenger seat, as well as the employees at the dealership taking my 911 for its regular carwash. I know this might start a debate about car washing. There are enough treads on that already. Let’s stay focused on seat bolster damage, please.

I've seen these leather repair people on Instagram do some crazy stuff. That seems like a piece of cake to repair.

Eventually if it gets bad enough, you can submit your VIN to Suncoast and they can order you new leather skin, and it will be good as new.
