So rummaging through my collection of "stuff" (read junk) I found a mesh from my old RS5 that for some reason wasn't sold with the car. Since I never used it it was probably never in the car to begin with. So, having discovered two latches on the rear seats (see pic below) I wonder what their uses are.
There's no other latch on the floor etc. and though I tried to span it by hooking it on the back of the driver/passenger seat (coat hanger) it doesn't really work. As to the frunk there's nothing you can hook to. Any idea what the latches are for and anyone come up with a mesh idea for stuff you might put on the folded seats or rear bench?
It's called LATCH. Modern cars have 3 built in attachment point for forward facing child seats. There are two at the outside edges where the seat meets the backrest. A third for the top tether. In SUVs it will be vertical on the back of the seat. On coupes and sedans it's horizontal on the back window area dash thing.
Rear seat with backrest up, car seat goes in place.
Search for LATCH for more info.
