Did a search and couldn’t find anything.
Filled up last week at a Shell station and when I got back in car, gauge read a little over 3/4 full and miles to empty reset itself to 361 instead of the usual 420 or so.
Figured it was the pump but I went to a Marathon yesterday to top it off after running errands and the same thing happened to almost exactly same level (361 miles to empty).
Service manager hasn’t seen this in a 992.
Anyone familiar? It’s 3 hours round trip to dealer but I guess that’s the next thing to try if it does it again.

Have you been driving more aggressively than usual lately? I thought the miles was based off recent mpg? Is the gauge showing a full tank?

Well how about how many gallons are you pumping in, and does it seem appropriate based on the gauge?

If it were me, I would next time after it clicks off I would add another 2 or so gallons and see what happens the following time at the pump.

Apparently a common issue on 911s for years. Something about the angle when filling. I posted about this when I got my car. When it clicks off I just manually fill after that until it shuts off again, usually 2-3 gallons. That always works.

LOL! On my 84' Carrera, I had to rotate the gas handle 180 degrees to fill up the gas tank. Otherwise, the gas lever kept shutting off.

Never overfill the tank. you will mess up the evaporative emissions system. If you have a careful ear, you can hear the "gurgling" as the tank starts to get full, or know before you pump how many gallons its going to take. When you hear the gurgling or get near the gallons filled point, back off on the pump handle a little bit to slow down the fill rate to stop a premature pressure blowback from "clicking" you off too early - that's what the people above experience when they click off early, and then top up. To be honest, a short fill is better for the car in any case.

Happens to me occasionally as well (2022 C2S w/ extended tank). I always estimate how much needs to go in and if it stops prematurely just let it go for a little bit more.

Yeah it happens from time to time. I see it most often when the nossle+hose doesn't have enough slack to relax, causing it to be pulled one way.

Mine fills to about 75-80% as well. Usually 12-13 gallons as opposed. I’m in NJ so can’t pump my own gas and not worth it to try to explain to the attendant what to do so I just deal with it.
