Surround view cameras intermittently don't work
The surround view cameras in my 3 week old 2023 992 C2 intermittently don't work, including the rear view camera. Seems to happen about 10% of the time at start-up and they remain disabled until the vehicle has been parked for a few hours. I've done some searching and it seems others have had this in Macans and Cayennes, and concerningly there was no fix despite some having multiple parts swapped out. I don't see much about it in the 992. Since it's all the cameras at once, it's presumably not a single bad camera, maybe a control module somewhere in the system.
Anyone have this issue? I know I can just take it to the dealer but thought I would seek the experience of rennlisters first.

Low battery can do that.

I’ve experienced that a few times. I press the camera icon on the PCM when it happens and then it works as designed. I have not had it happen since the PCM was recently updated by the dealership (WNT 1) but I have not driven the car much since that update due to other mainly self imposed distractions. Wrapping those up by the end of next week so I’ll keep tabs on that issue soon. On Ctek maintainer when not being used.

I've got the exact same issue with my 2023 Turbo S, I’ve had the dealer reprogram the PCM multiple times to no avail. At one point it actually worked fine for a couple of weeks, but then the issue was back.
The car has now been at the dealership for more than a week, and still no positive news.
Have you managed to find any solution to this?

We just bought a 2023 Cayenne a few months ago and it has been doing the same thing. We haven't had a chance bring into the dealership yet. Every time it happens we take a picture of it to show how many times it has happened. One of the members on the Cayenne forum said that he was told that Porsche are working on a software update for this problem.

Likely a PCM 6 bug which will get fixed… eventually. Porsche doesn’t seem to understand that owner expectations for software updates have fundamentally changed due to rapid cycles for App Store and IOS-style updates. Granted, the rigor of an automotive environment (and perhaps regulatory concerns) demands longer testing cycles but six months to a year seems the minimum time for an actual ‘fix’ for anything these days. Not to excuse any of this but PCM 5 at the 992 launch was riddled with bugs requiring a number of updates to correct.
If you have a PIWIS setup check for errors from the various controllers, and clear any that may be present. Sometimes controllers will timeout and won’t communicate with other so clearing any errors will possibly get things functioning again (ie the camera controller may not be communicating with PCM, etc).

Update from the OP: Took my 992 in for service to address this issue, later the same day got a call saying they found a fault in the front camera and would replace it, part will take 2 days to arrive. I am somewhat skeptical that this is the problem given every camera has been failing intermittently, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. At the least they didn't give me a could not replicate answer.

Follow-up from the OP: received my car back from the dealer after 10 days. Per service records a scan of the vehicle found multiple camera faults, fault that occurred first was front bumper camera faulty, that was replaced, first ordered replacement arrived broken, hence it took over a week. I just picked up the car, all cameras currently work. Time will tell...

Happened to me on collection day. Wouldn't go away no matter what I did, so I performed a factory reset on the PCM and that fixed the problem. Hasn't occurred ever since.
