Those looks fantastic. What is the wiring from each paddle shift unit? Does each one feed to the main connector at 12 o’clock? I’m looking at getting a PDK GT Sport wheel steering wheel for my 7MT. I just want to make sure I can remove the paddles and not leave anything open in terms of wiring.

I have been in email contact with Jeffrey at JQW.

They have a design in the works and here are the images (he is happy for me to share here).

I have suggested that their design is a little on the small side compared to my current design and the original GT3RS paddle.

Default Just fitted JQW paddles…

Just spent around 45 mins fitting these. There are some great threads which helped enormously so thanks to everyone who has posted anything re wheel removal.

They’re a touch noisier than maybe I was expecting but the sharp, clicking action is much more precise than OEM and feels like an instant shift action (of paddles not gearbox)with a digital feel rather than the OEM action which feels like it can happen anywhere over a range.

paddles are a little sharp in the hand but I’ll get used to that.

Very race car feel

Also there’s a decent amount of adaptation available with the screws that are used to attach the assemblies’ parts.

I just jumped on the group buy for these that was cross-posted in the Turbo & Turbo S forum for my incoming 2023 Turbo S Cab. I really like the yellow accent paint on in the inside of the paddles because I ordered the Speed Yellow deviated stitching and carbon fiber steering wheel. I am wondering if you could put painters tape on the front of the paddles then just spray paint the “+” and “-“ cutouts from behind and use nail polish remover to clean up anything that leaked through.

Since you already did this, what do you think of this as an alternative?

Seeing the idea for acrylic paint, I’d love to see the results when you’re done as I think I’d prefer the spaces filled with color rather than just painted on the inside of the cutouts. Thanks for posting pics with the results when it’s all done!

I am not super happy with the results. I wanted the surface to be slightly dipped but 100% smooth. I might try epoxy or nail polish for a harder smoother finish.

other than that it was straight forward. I tapped the back with painters tape and filled the gap with acrylic paint. Had to do 2-3 pours since the level drops significantly when it dries out.

Comments are welcome.

I contacted the vendor about the new design shifters. He said they will NOT be available as the default option, they will be a separate item to purchase. So those who are waiting hoping they will get these new shifters by default, jump on the group discount while it lasts.

Ordered immediately after seeing the OP post. Got them installed today!

For those still contemplating don’t wait any longer just get em you wont regret it! In my case i dont really have that big hands and always wished that the original shifters would stick out side ways a bit more so that more of my fingers could grab the peddles rather than just the tips. Secondly the feel of the original peddles when you change gears just never felt that great to me was soft yet slightly stiff and not much travel unlike in the Ferrari or Lambo..

with these you can adjust for the peddles to extend outwards more so people with smaller hands can reach them better…actuation cant be adjusted so same travel before it engages but you can move the peddles back away from the steering wheel makes it feel better.

only complaint is the carbon fiber shifters although great that they provide two different length sizes ( i went with the longer one ) feels thin though there’s no flex when shifting…I rather go with something thicker and more contoured similar to the original ones if you get what i mean. Hopefully the metal GT3RS designed ones are made available soon would love to try them out

So yea if you’re still sitting on the fence go ahead and do it…i found myself shifting unnecessarily the entire day just enjoying the clicking sound and new feel to the peddles

Same here, I have not used the shifters more than a couple of times since buying the car. Since installing these ones, I used the shifters more in a day than I did all year. I’m looking fwd to the aluminum GT3 style ones too.
