Good for her, as she has her priorities right. 👍
”Grandmother wins £100,000 Porsche but sticks with her CorsaJoanne McGuigan won the sports car in the Omaze Million Pound House Draw but has decided to sell it and pay off her mortgage.
A grandmother has won a Porsche worth £100,000, but has decided to stick with her Vauxhall Corsa.
Joanne McGuigan, from Fife in Scotland, won the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe in the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, which is raising money for Marie Curie.
The 39-year-old and her husband plan to sell the sports car to pay off their mortgage and treat their six children and four grandchildren.
Mrs McGuigan said she does not want to part with her beloved Corsa, which has 44,000 miles on the clock and is worth about £10,000.
She said her husband Iain, a car mechanic, did not believe her at first when she said she had won a Porsche.
The money we’ll get from selling it is life-changing
I have never won anything before this so I’m still in shock, to be honest.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever been inside a Porsche and the car is absolutely stunning – after going for a spin I can safely say it’s definitely quicker than my Vauxhall!
“As much as my husband would love to keep it, the money we’ll get from selling it is life-changing – so we’re going to sell it and use the money to pay off our mortgage and treat our children and grandchildren.”

Not that there is anything wrong with it, not a political comment, just an observation.

Good on her, sounds like she has her priorities right. Re. the age question, back in our parents and grandparents days it pretty common to marry and have kids early, so 49 with grandchildren would have been common as well.

The thing I got a chuckle about was that her husband is an auto mechanic…so you know he’s a car guy. But it was her ticket that won, and no doubt, her choice to sell and use the money for things that matter most to her - her kids and grandkids. But bet the husband is bummed. Maybe?

You can be a 49 year old granny. Have kid at age 20, daughter pumps out a unit at age 25 or so...bingo!
Was discussing that MTV show '16 and pregnant' this weekend, along with Hoarders 'buried alive', Geraldo, Jenny Jones, Sally Jessy Raphael, Springer, Phil Donahue. It was argued that Donahue is still alive and I'm not so sure. The guy looked 70 back in the 1980's.
